President Donald Trump posted to truth on Sunday, where he said that he would be ending future funding to Sorth Africa until further notice due to the “bad situation” taking place there.
“South Africa is confiscating land, and treating certain classes of people VERY BADLY. It is a bad situation that the Radical Left Media doesn’t want to so much as mention. A massive Human Rights VIOLATION, at a minimum, is happening for all to see. The United States won’t stand for it, we will act. Also, I will be cutting off all future funding to South Africa until a full investigation of this situation has been completed" he said.
During his first term, Donald Trump promised to look into claims of widespread violence against white farmers in South Africa, as well as reports of forced land seizures.
Back in 2018, Trump stated that he had directed then-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to “closely study” the matter. “South Africa is now implementing a land expropriation without compensation, a very dangerous path!” he warned at the time.
The decision to reduce aid to South Africa was announced just a day after Trump imposed tariffs on imports from Mexico, Canada, and China, escalating tensions in global trade.
