Illegal aliens commit murders, sex crimes after Administration refuses to deport them

The Washington Times relates some chilling statistics from a new House Judiciary Committee report: ???The Obama administration declined to try to deport more than 36,000 illegal immigrants that were arrested on other charges between 2008 and 2011, including some who went on to commit 19 murders, 3 attempted murders and 142 sex crimes.??? (Emphasis mine.)

Plenty of criminal illegals were indeed deported under the Obama Administration???s ???Secure Communities??? program, but those they decided to ignore went on to commit quite a bit of mayhem.  House Judiciary Committee chairman Lamar Smith (R-TX) declared, ???The Obama administration could have prevented these senseless crimes by enforcing our immigration laws.  But President Obama continues to further his anti-enforcement agenda while innocent Americans suffer the consequences.  His unwillingness to enforce immigration laws puts our communities at risk and costs American lives.???

President Obama???s lax attitude toward illegal aliens has come under fire in other respects.  According to an Examiner.com report published Monday, ???U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement special agent Christopher Crane, President of the National Immigration and Customs Enforcement Council, the union representing America???s more than 7,000 ICE agents and personnel, and Border Patrol agent George McCubbin, President of the National Border Patrol Council, the union representing America???s more than 17,000 border agents and personnel, both blasted President Barack Obama's de facto ???Dream Act,??? and the actions of superiors at their respective agencies.???

Agent Crane disputed Administration claims of diligently enforcing immigration law, saying ???those on the front line know this to be untrue??? they see the violence, chaos, and lawlessness.???  He accused the Administration of a ???sustained, relentless effort to undermine America???s immigration laws,??? in which they have ???handcuffed and muffled those charged with protecting the public safety and the integrity of our borders.???

Among the incidents cited in the Examiner article were the discovery of 25 illegal aliens attending a flight school in Boston (three of them actually got pilot???s licenses!) and an illegal with four different arrests on his record, who was allowed to walk out of a courtroom because the prosecutors, according to Crane, said ???He???s a DREAMer.  Release him.???

It has also been alleged that aliens can get protected DREAM Act status merely by claiming to meet the criteria, without providing much in the way of supporting documentation.

This is all very contrary to the way Obama???s ???DREAM Act by fiat??? was sold to the American public.  We are repeatedly assured that criminal illegal aliens will be swiftly deported ??? only the most desirable, law-abiding, hard-working people, who follow every law except our immigration laws, will be granted amnesty.

It doesn???t seem like that???s happening.  Instead, according to Agent Crane???s allegations, DREAM Act status is becoming de facto immunity to all American law.  We continue to explore the dangerous cognitive dissonance of a system that decides some laws don???t really apply to certain people, according to political imperatives, while other laws are supposed to be rigorously enforced.  It???s a shame so many people appear to have forgotten that lawlessness is contagious.
