I'm way too late on posting something on the Right Angle about this but this is a shout out of support for Erick's war on RedState regarding Ken Calvert being chosen for the Appropriations Committee.
As he wrote this morning: This war is not about Ken Calvert. The people of his district elected him and he has every right to represent them. He should not, however, be on the Appropriations Committee. Already on the Appropriations Committee -- that committee which doles out taxpayer funds -- Republicans have seen Duke Cunningham go to jail, John Doolittle resign because of a federal investigation, and Jerry Lewis most likely to soon be indicted. Calvert is just the most recent unfortunate example of why this war is necessary.
Apparantly,
Calvert even responded to RedState accusations, but a lengthy, tiresome explanation for past behavior isn't real impressive.
Read Erick's
original post to find out more juicy details if you don't already know them. RedState is targeting representatives from specific districts on a daily basis, providing their phone numbers and easy methods of holding the GOP accountable.
RedState really has it right. If we don't watch the government or hold them accountable for their actions, who will?
Today's target is John Linder of Georgia. Suggested questions:
(1) Are you aware that Ken Calvert paid a heroin addicted prostitute for oral sex?
(2) Are you aware that Calvert will be the fourth California Republican on the Appropriations Committee to have records seized by the FBI?
This battle is important not only for it's individual success but also for future battles we must win against corruption in our leadership. By proving we can win this one, we will ultimately eliminate more immorality and shoddy justification from intruding into our leadership.
