While I'm glad that the court
ruled against the plaintiffs (some abortionists and Planned Parenthood), this decision changes very little about abortion in America. It stays within the framework set by the Casey decision, and the ban is narrow and contains exceptions. Abortionists can still kill late-term babies, they just can’t do it using this method.
It is better that Planned Parenthood (America’s largest abortion provider) lose than win here, but we shouldn’t imagine that this decision does much to stop abortion or overturn Roe and Casey.
