John Kerry Claims: "McCain Approached Me About Joining Dem Ticket in 2004" View All of The Ballot Box Posts

Jon Singer of the liberal MyDD blog briefly interviews Senator John Kerry (D-Mass.) about the March 29th article from Bob Cusack in The Hill which claims John McCain nearly abandoned the GOP in 2004.

Here is the transcript of the audio posted at MyDD:
Jonathan Singer: There's a story in The Hill, I think on Tuesday, by Bob Cusack on the front page of the paper talking about how John McCain's people -- John Weaver -- had approached Tom Daschle and a New York Congressman, I don't remember his name, about switching parties. And I was wondering if you could talk a little bit about what your discussions were with him in 2004, how far it went, who approached whom... if there was any "there" there.

John Kerry: I don't know all the details of it. I know that Tom, from a conversation with him, was in conversation with a number of Republicans back then. It doesn't surprise me completely because his people similarly approached me to engage in a discussion about his potentially being on the ticket as Vice President. So his people were active -- let's put it that way.

Singer: Okay. And just to confirm, you said it, but this is something they approached you rather than...

Kerry: Absolutely correct. John Weaver of his shop... [JK aswers phone]
So if this story is untrue, then what would motivate Kerry to lie? This story has lasted for more than a couple days- And if this report is false, then the McCain should set the record straight quickly.

And regardless of if this story is false or true, the bigger problem for McCain is that this story is entirely believable.

I really hope you CONs have enough sense not to give this fraud your vote.. believe me, we don't want him either! He's the biggest fraud I've ever seen.. besides the obvious George W. Bush as President, of course! Both of the FRAUDS belong somewhere other than politics - Bush in a prison camp and McCain sittin' on his front porch sipping whiskey..

yeah, you're right, but most conservatives already know that McCain is a total fraud. However, most conservatives, until recent years, including myself, didn't really really realize what an absolute fraud Bush is. He commits TREASON on a daily basis with his open borders policy. As for McCain, he has no chance of winning the nomination. He is a complete and total loser without a conservative bone in his whole body.

John McCain desrves to be a Democrat!.......Come out of the closet and admit it John Boy!...He's worse than a tranvestite trapped in a mans body!.....No conservative gets in bed with Ted (Failed Lifegaurd) Kennedy on immigration unless he is a closet case LIBERAL!...As for Ted Boy, Russion Documents now show that during the REAGAN years he was a CLOSET CASE KGB agent!.....Both should seek work at the Senor Bush Presidential Library in Mexico City after 2008. Well, at lest John, liberals wouldn't care if TK was a terrorist for UBL! The home boys of Mass would re-elect him anyway.

This is a story? How? All it shows is that the GOP seems eager to drop McCain on the Dems like so much dirty laundry - and yet they embrace RudyJudy, the poster adulterers and Karl Rove, the doughboy that never faced an evil he didn't embrace (including Bush).
