The Zogby poll did not include Fred Thompson, which clearly makes a significant difference on the Republican side. Thompson has surfaced as a possible contender with heavy praise from the conservative community. It will be interesting to watch the Republican scene change if and when he decides to enter.
In third place for Democrats in the Gallup poll, another candidate who isn't running, Al Gore. But Gore has shown no serious intention to run as of yet.
