In sharp contrast to Sen.
John McCain's chic black-and-white website, former New York Mayor
Rudy Giuliani went live today with a colorful, information-packed site for his exploratory committee:
JoinRudy2008.com.
While McCain opted to minimize the content available on his site,
ExploreMcCain.com, Giuliani isn't holding back. He providers readers with a detailed biography -- broken down by the "
Early Years," "
The Crime Fighter," "
Mayor of New York" and "
Business Leader."
Guiliani also emphasizes seven policy areas: "
Fighting Crime," "
Cutting Taxes," "
Fiscal Responsibility," "
Welfare Reform," "
Improving Education," "
Quality of Life" and "
Protecting Children."
With Giuliani now online, this means the last top-tier candidate, Massachusetts Gov.
Mitt Romney, will be playing catch-up to his likely rivals. (Although Romney doesn't have an '08 website, he does maintain an active site for his
Commonwealth PAC.)
Other possible candidates, such as
Sam Brownback and
Newt Gingrich, also maintain websites. While Newt's site is dedicated mostly to the issues he cares passionately about, Brownback's is clearly a campaign site devoted to mobilizing his base of supporters.
