I hereby endorse Rep.
Jack Murtha (D.-Pa.) for House majority leader. Murtha would bring the Democrats nothing but heartache and grief for his
unethical behavior and
scandel-plagued career in Congress.
Murtha and Speaker-to-be
Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) are two peas in a pod that would spell doom for Democrats. Electing Murtha would provide the GOP endless talking points about Democrats' pandering to
left-wingers who think they have a mandate.
Besides, with Rep.
Steny Hoyer (D.-Md.) out of the picture, Republicans actually stand a better chance of making progress on policy initiatives. Murtha may be experienced at
handing out the pork from his seat on the House floor, but he knows nothing about leading the Democrat caucus.
When Democrats cast their ballots tomorrow, I hope they'll hand Republicans their first post-election win.
UPDATE -- 8:02 p.m.: The Media Research Center says
Murtha has the liberal media to thank for his candidacy for majority leader. I have to agree. Murtha went from being a nobody to a somebody overnight because of the praise he reaped from the media's glowing coverage of him.
