Today former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani
filed papers to create the Rudy Giuliani Presidential Exploratory Committee, Inc., which allows him to raise money to explore a White House run and travel the country. It's pretty much the first step for someone who wants to run for president, and really not much of a surprise.
Hillary was fortunate enough that marriage and health problems forced Rudy out of the 2000 New York Senate race, leaving her to face the lesser known Rep. Rick Lazio. While Giuliani will have a difficult time in the GOP primary, given his liberal views on several key issues, Republicans wary of another Clinton in the White House look the other way, considering that he has shown to be very competitive against Hillary in hypothetical presidential polls.
They may yet meet for a Clash of the Titans-style matchup.
