I just spoke with a member of Rep.
Tom Tancredo's staff, who confirms
John Hawkins' report that Tancredo has agreed to back
Mike Pence for minority leader. This is a great surprise, given their very public falling out over Pence's
shocking amnesty plan for illegal aliens, clumsily released in the middle of this year's staring match between Republican House members and Senate amnesty proponents.
I have confidence in very few members of Congress, mostly because many of them are spineless hypocrites (it's nothing personal, you see), but on immigration and border security issues I do have confidence in Tom Tancredo. On
immigration crime, he has never sold out, never backed down, and never done anything other than what he promised to do. I will wait for the official announcement (planned for Monday) to be certain, but if Tancredo has decided to back Pence, I have to conclude that Pence has seen the error of his previous effort and the two have reached an understanding.
You have a second chance to lead against the illegal alien invasion, Mr. Pence.
