The final numbers are in for the
Rightroots 15-Day Challenge, and today's late surge put all 21 candidates over the top. In fact, when all was said and done, each candidate easily surpassed the 100-donation goal.
Coming out on top with 205 donations was
Diana Irey, running against Rep.
John Murtha in Pennsylvania's 12th District. Since August 1, when
Rightroots debuted, Irey has raised more than $14,000, a significant accomplishment. Among House candidates,
Ray Meier, running in New York's 24th District, has banked $8,617, while Iraq War veteran
Van Taylor in Texas' 17th District, has raised $6,718.
In the Senate races, Maryland Republican
Michael Steele took the prize for the most donations with 186. He's also raised $8,623, slightly ahead of Minnesota Rep.
Mark Kennedy's $8,027.
For everyone who contributed to
Rightroots, thank you. Without you're help -- either making a donation or linking to
Rightroots on your blog -- we couldn't have accomplished this goal.
Remember, your last-minute efforts today mean that Republican National Chairman
Ken Mehlman will
send an e-mail on behalf of Rightroots to the RNC's millions of activists.
