So how's Bolivia doing since last year's election of Hugo Chavez's crony, Evo Morales?
Morales has lived up to many of his radical campaign promises: he nationalized the country's energy sector, joined an anti-American alliance with Venezuela and Cuba, and convened a constituent assembly meant to write socialism into Bolivia's constitution.
Bolivia, somewhat unsurprisingly, is now
embroiled in widespread civil strife. Pro-government goons have moved in to restive areas to try to suppress a general strike. Meanwhile, the country's most productive regions are increasingly vocal about their desire to secede from Morales' workers' paradise.
If the resurgent opposition overthrows Morales, I wonder if Chavez would just stand by and let it happen...
