If Sen. Rick Santorum (R.-Pa.) is gaining poll points on for his hard-line immigration stance, let's hope that same wind blows over to Steve Laffey in Rhode Island.
Today the U.S. Immigration Reform Political Action Committee (USIRP) endorsed Republican candidate Steve Laffey in Rhode Island’s September 12 Republican primary race against incumbent Senator Lincoln Chafee.
USIRP Communications Director Phil Kent said:
Senator Chafee’s votes on immigration policy closely mimic Senator Edward Kennedy’s pro-illegal alien, pro-mass immigration politics. Among other things Sen. Chafee voted to give amnesty to over ten million illegal aliens and to provide them with Social Security benefits and in-state tuition at state supported colleges and universities.
Senator Chafee is out of touch with the American people when it comes to immigration policy. With few exceptions he has voted in lock-step with Wall Street billionaires and separatist groups like the National Council of La Raza on immigration legislation before the Senate.
