I just got word that Sen. John McCain will be giving the Michigan Republican State Committee major money to divvy up to local party organizations.
The Michigan Republican Party's Party's blog, named "That's Saul, Folks!" for the state's chairman Saul Anuzis, just posted this announcement that verifies the details I was told were described on a private conference call between Michigan GOP leaders:
National Commitee members Chuck Yob and Holly Hughes, along with Ambassador Ron Weiser announced that Senator John McCain's PAC will be donating well over $100,000 in Michigan, something to EVERY district, county and local party organizations throughout the state.
According to my source, McCain will also be doing a bus tour with Michigan GOP gubernatorial candidate Dick Devos. The sudden interest in Michigan could be that the Michigan GOP recently endorsed holding their primary before South Carolina, but after New Hampshire giving that race more weight that in years past.
