The “House Call on Washington” press conference turned rally today was a heavily-attended success. Over 25,000 people traveled to Washington, D.C. on just a few days’ notice to meet up and lobby their member of Congress in person: just say no to the government takeover of health care.
I spoke with people from Florida, Iowa, North Dakota, California, Michigan, Texas, Kentucky, New Jersey, North Carolina, Louisiana and Maine. Of the dozens of people I spoke with or fully interviewed, only one was from neighboring Virginia.
Mark Levin and Jon Voight both gave rousing speeches joined by practically all of the Republican members of Congress. Interviews with Levin, Voight and members of Congress, as well as speech excerpts, will be included in tomorrow’s full write-up of the event.
Chanting “kill the bill,” great patriots are packing the sidewalks lining up to enter the Canon, Longworth and Rayburn House office buildings as of this writing. In the great American tradition, they’re headed to find the office of their member of Congress to solicit redress of their grievances.
