The Senate on Aug. 6 confirmed 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Sonia Sotomayor to be on the Supreme Court. During the debate, Sen. Jeff Sessions (R.-Ala.) said "Judge Sotomayor's expressed judicial philosophy rejects openly the ideal of impartial and objective judging.” Sotomayor will be sworn in as a Supreme Court justice Saturday, Aug. 8.
