Nixon and Kennedy: The myths and reality

Nixon and Kennedy: The myths and reality

Had there been no Dallas, there would been no Camelot.

There would have been no John F. Kennedy as brilliant statesman cut off in his prime, had it not been for those riveting days from Dealey Plaza to Arlington and the lighting of the Eternal Flame.

Along with the unsleeping labors of an idolatrous press and the propagandists who control America’s popular culture, those four days created and sustained the Kennedy Myth.

But, over 50 years, the effect has begun to wear off.

The New York Times reports that in the ranking of presidents, Kennedy has fallen further and faster than any. Ronald Reagan has replaced him as No. 1, and JFK is a fading fourth.

Kennedy is increasingly perceived today as he was 50 years ago, before word came that shots had been fired in Dallas.

That he was popular, inspirational, charismatic, no one denied. But no one would then have called him great or near great. His report card had too many C’s, F’s and Incompletes.

His great legislative victory had been the passage of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962. His tax cut bill was buried on the Hill.

His triumph had been forcing a withdrawal of Soviet missiles from Cuba. But we would learn this was done by a secret deal for the withdrawal of U.S.

missiles from Turkey and a secret pledge not to invade Cuba.

And after the missile crisis, Bobby Kennedy pushed the CIA to eliminate Castro, eliciting a warning from Fidel that two could play this game. Lyndon Johnson said that under the Kennedys, the CIA had been running “a damned Murder Inc. in the Caribbean.”

What caused Nikita Khrushchev to think he could get away with putting rockets in Cuba? His perception that JFK was a weak president.

Kennedy had denied air cover for the Cuban patriots at the Bay of Pigs, resulting in the worst debacle of the Cold War. He was then berated and humiliated by Khrushchev at the Vienna Summit in June 1961.

In August, Khrushchev built the Berlin Wall. Kennedy sat paralyzed.

In September, Khrushchev smashed the three-year-old nuclear test-ban moratorium with a series of explosions featuring, at Novaya Zemlya, a 57-megaton “Tsar Bomba,” the largest man-made blast ever.

“Less profile, more courage,” the placards read.

In Southeast Asia, JFK had Averell Harriman negotiate a treaty for neutralizing Laos, resulting in Hanoi’s virtual annexation of the Ho Chi Minh trail through Laos into South Vietnam.

Where Eisenhower had 600 advisers in Vietnam, JFK increased it to 16,000 and gave his blessing to a generals’ coup in which our ally, President Ngo Dinh Diem, was assassinated.

Then and there, Vietnam became America’s war.

Kennedy had made a famous phone call to Mrs. Martin Luther King during the

1960 campaign when her husband had been arrested. Yet, he kept his administration away from the March on Washington and directed J. Edgar Hoover to wiretap Dr. King to learn of his associations with Communists.

Since his death, Kennedy’s reputation has been ravaged by revelations of assignations and mistresses from Marilyn Monroe to Mafia molls to White House interns from Miss Porter’s School.

All of this was covered up by his courtier journalists who would collaborate in perpetuating the Kennedy myth and collude in destroying their great hate object, Richard Nixon.

Yet, contrast what Nixon did, with what JFK failed to do.

Where Kennedy managed to get Gov. George Wallace to admit two black students to the University of Alabama, Nixon desegregated 70 percent of all Southern public schools.

Where the JFK-LBJ administration spent eight years putting 535,000 U.S.

troops into a war they could neither end nor win, Nixon withdrew all U.S.

troops in four years, brought home the POWs, and left every provincial capital in South Vietnamese hands.

Where Kennedy had the Peace Corps, Nixon ended the draft, gave 18-year-olds the right to vote, created an Environmental Protection Agency and a Cancer Institute and an Occupational Health and Safety Administration.

Where Kennedy gave speeches about detente, Nixon negotiated the greatest arms treaties since the Washington Naval Agreement — SALT I and the ABM treaty — ended decades of hostility between the U.S. and the People’s Republic of China, rescued Israel in the Yom Kippur War, and pulled Egypt out of the Soviet bloc into the U.S. camp.

Creating a new majority that would dominate presidential politics until 1992, Nixon was rewarded with a 49-state landslide in 1972.

Whereupon a press elite that had maintained a conspiracy of silence on Kennedy’s misconduct, seized on Nixon’s failure to deal decisively with misconduct in his campaign to bring him down in the first successful coup d’etat in U.S. political history.

The mythologizing of JFK and demonization of Nixon tell us less about respective accomplishments than the moral character of an establishment, which, though it had lost America by ’72, still controlled the culture, media, bureaucracy and Congress.

And as they brought down Nixon with Watergate, they would seek to bring down Reagan with Iran-Contra. But that coup failed.

Though it could not be known at the time, Nixon’s greatest mistake was opening up the eyes of the Chinese. Through Henry Kissinger a new world order was shown to them and how they would be a main player.

Russia and China were successfully played off each other. Such that each, with security, were able to press forward with their individual objectives.

The result; One Billion Chinese woke up to the realization that they were natural born predatory capitalist. Within a mere 15 years they had transformed their country. Within 25 years they were second only to the United States. Within 35 years they own and/or control 20 percent of Americas economy.

They accomplished this on the backs of the American and European Citizens. Of course our politicians helped them along, especially Al Gore. Can anyone say “Treason”.

    blah blah blah
Democrats TODAY run on giving money to Wall Street, banksters, and also run on abortion and infanticide and gay and transgendered sexual explosions.
Republicans run on ending medicare and social security and giving money to banksters!
    BLAH BLAH BLAH
    WHY BOTHER!

Democrats run on endless war, NSA surveillance and GLBT issues!
Republicans run on endless war, NSA surveillance and ending medicare.

if the politicians didnt focus on abortion or gay issues…..THE POLS WOULD DO NOTHING!

  • John1943

I agree with all Pat says about Kennedy and some of what he says about Nixon. But there were 3 pro abortion Supreme Court appointments, forced busing, OSHA, The EPA, wage and price controls, Watergate, sky high inflation, ending the Gold Standard, the secret war in Cambodia. Then of course there was China. I don’t disagree with making peace the People’s Republic. It’s the way he did it. Did he have to go and smooze with some greatest mass murderers in history? Couldn’t he have left it to quiet diplomacy. I think the President makes a big mistake with personal diplomacy. It all started with Wilson, then FDR, Truman, Eisenhower, the Kennedy and his blunders. The President should stay home and think. Then he can review the diplomacy and make cold blooded decisions. As for Israel, he should of told them to get behind the Green Line and stay there just like Eisenhower did in 1956. The World would be a far better place.

  • Keith VanderLaan

civil rights and freedoms are important.
but can one really be free, if people do not have economic rights??
    THE PARTIES ARE NUTS!

  • yoshimoto

When I was younger, I was amazed at how some people hated Kennedy. Now that I am older and wiser, I can see how Kennedy was just a good-looking guy with a full head of hair and not enough brains to be president. We got the same thing going on today in the White House – talks a great talk, can’t do anything right. Bush Jr was just as bad. It’s time to raise the minimum age for presidents – make it 60 plus. What do you think? I don’t want these young presidents learning on the job at the expense of our young boys and our treasury.

  • yoshimoto

ahh, this is a stretch – the Chinese lived under crazed oppression with Mao and now are finally being let loose….our greatest mistake is siting there and letting them take our economy away…i’ve been to China, the streets are lined with factories – our streets are lined with strip malls – they are more capitalist than we are…

  • CaptainAhab

Pat seems to have a selective memory when it comes to Nixon. I disagree with his assertion that the SALT 1 and ABM Treaties were great accomplishments.

A more interesting comparison would be if Pat would compare and contrast Nixon and GW Bush. Kissinger is to Nixon what Cheney and Rumsfeld were to Bush. Which combination did the most damage?

  • CaptainAhab

No, the problem isn’t with the age requirements of the candidates. Would you rather have McCain? He would have been just as terrible as 0bama. The problem lies with the brainwashed education of the people who are voting, and election rules that are rigged in favor of the one party (Repubmocrat) system.

  • Keith VanderLaan

you do know alot of neocons in the republican party claim JFK as one of them.

  • tedh754

Though I turned 18 in 1972 and was allowed to vote in that election, I can’t remember Nixon’s role in pushing for the amendment. Did he? I’m just ignorant of the facts here, not saying he pushed for it or didn’t. I know the President’s role in amendments is small (no vote or veto).

  • ALTILLA

Pat, still trying, like the verbal storm trooper that you still are, trying to push Nixon up to Mount Olympus. There is no use in trying to fix the Nixon problem for it is un-fixable; Nixon is trying, as the red whip is slashing his back to shovel that coal faster, next to the furnaces of Hell, right alongside LBJ, to say I’m sorry for causing so much misery and death in the short time he was President, all of 5 years. He should have went to Prison, people.

The wrong man was shot that year.

  • Hymie Saks

All of you people who find this topic interesting – nixon, jfk – need to understand just one thing. You are all fast becoming more and more irrelevant every day. We will make you register your guns and take away all outlawed weapons. We will consider gay marriage as legitimate as yours. We will continue to use abortion as a form of birth control. We will consume more than you did, work less than you did, and enjoy life more than you did. In our future there is no need for guns. Everyone is tracked and recorded at all times. And of course govt will provide much more than you can even imagine today. \

Just think, ten – fifteen yrs ago if someone told you the govt will provide you with a phone – mobile one at that with 250 minutes each month – free of charge, you’d think they were crazy. But just look at what the feds have provided for us already in the past half decade or so. Do you really this gravy train is ever going to stop? If you do then you haven’t been paying attention to the workings of our govt. They are not worried about the dollar. They own all shipping lanes. We are the masters of the universe! That’s why the govt can afford to give all these away… and more. There’s just not enough time to list them all here so I just gave you a few below…. but trust me, you can really live without having to work! Trust Uncle Sam to provide.

  • Hymie Saks

A mobile phone – Free phone and minutes program.

Automobile – cash for clunkers program with 0% down for a new car as well as many fringe benefits – such as fuel vouchers, and auto insurance re-reimbursement from the govt – attached to the cash for clunkers program that most never even knew existed!

Houses – Harp program. Every homeowner that had a job – regardless of credit score or how underwater they were – all qualified for a ‘loan modification’. In fact, the only way to qualify for this program was to not only be underwater (meaning you owed more than it was worth), but you had to be at least 6 months delinquent on your monthly payments!!!

The way it worked was that your interest rate would immediately be dropped to 0% the first 3 yrs, then 1% for 7 yrs… finally topping out at 4% till the end of the new 30 yr loan! In most cases the principal balances were lowered slightly as well as ALL late fees, fines, interest accrued, and monthly payments missed – completely FORGIVEN!

  • Hymie Saks

The utilities & appliances replacement programs aka…American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. This program will blow all of you away. Any homeowner, and I mean ANY homeowner that was paying no taxes or low taxes – in other words, middle class – had their electricity company inspect their home free of charge for all leaks in walls, windows, doors, etc. Replace or fix all that needed to be fixed. Then replace, yes replace WORKING stove/ovens, fridges, air conditioning/heating units, water heater, etc IF THESE new appliances & units were more efficient then the old ones. Of course in almost every case they were.

There have been so many of these freebies attached to almost all bills passed by Congress that even for someone like me who’s always looking to get govt freebies cant keep up with all the different programs offered by so many different federal agencies.

  • Hymie Saks

So may I suggest a little less reminiscing the “good ol’ days” and a little more getting with the program…. old timers!!!

  • Hymie Saks

Also, I forgot the name of the telecommunications Act that provides for very discounted or free internet service to people living in rural areas and other places where broadband is expensive.

I’ve also discovered a federal agency that can & will help ANY American get free broadband service from the provider of your choice with the highest speeds & unlimited data usage – all paid for by Uncle Sam. All at no cost to you!

  • Hymie Saks

He did do one good thing. He opened up a relationship with China. A relationship that culminated into this wonderful global economy that we have today!!!

And btw, LBJ, gave us the great society Mister!!!

Without him we would not have had Medicare or the Food Stamp program or so many other programs.

I’m sorry ALTILLA, but I have to disagree – respectfully. I think he was a great man and even better Politician. He brought electricity to so much of his home state of Texas., He did so much for the middle class, minorities and women. He was a great President sir!

  • Hymie Saks

Listen Keith, its gonna be Ok. Just go along with the program. No one will starve We just have to ride out the waves until we completely dominate everyone. Destroy these so-called brics countries. Brazil, Russia, India, China, & S.Africa.

Then we won’t have to worry about jobs my friend. Automation is our future. Our liberty! The beginning of our luxury!

  • Hymie Saks

Of course. And they would be right to do so. That is if neocons are your code words for Jewish people – as I suspect it is Keith. Did you know his dad was an anti-semite?

    Well that was not acceptable!

Just as Constantine wanted to destroy the Muslim empire & wound up with the city named after him, being turned into the capital of the Muslim empire – Instanbul – & is to this very day a Muslim city – in Turkey – Joseph Kennedy had to pay for his sins!

Not only did President Kennedy renounce his father’s hateful beliefs, but went as far as to publicly disagree with his dad on this issue!

The President’s daughter had to be wooed, seduced and married by a Jewish fellow. Her brother died tragically, and the President’s blood lines will now be at least half Jewish for ever & ever!

So, Like constantine before him, proud arrogant men fall hard!

  • Hymie Saks

    Republicans and Democrats!

  • Hymie Saks

Both parties run on handouts and molding (bringing you rednecks along kicking & screaming) society into their plans for our future!!!

A better future for all. Without guns or religion in schools or any of that dogmatic nonsense!!!

  • Hymie Saks

    So what’s wrong with that.

Look the endless wars are for endless enemies who won’t do as they’re told! The nsa surveillance is for finding enemies within as well as tax cheats, perverts, pedophiles, murderers, etc. etc. Get with the program dude.

Oh and what’s this glbt nonsense. People Keith, they are people. I’m sure they don’t have any issues as soon as President Obama twists enough arms in Congress to next time pass this equal rights at the workplace law that just narrowly got defeated. What is wrong with you, man???

  • Hymie Saks

He’s administering treats. Treats my friend, treats!!!

  • Hymie Saks

No dude, opening the door to China is what has given us this great empire we have today. It released us from having to manufacture any of what we need ourselves! And we get to pay pennies on the dollar that we used to pay. How awesome is that – pal?

  • Hymie Saks

Here, let me give you your economic right:

    1. You have the right to buy food at your local grocer that’s been shipped to you from all over the world. At the cheapest prices in the world too- I may add.

2.You won’t have to work for your daily bread. How’s that for economic rights???

    3. You have the right to choose to work and thereby improve on your personal economy even more. Please. Enough with this economic freedom nonsense. That just means you want the freedom to compete with verizon, apple, etc. Well………that ain’t gonna happen. So just find your place in the totem pole and accept it.

  • Hymie Saks

We need to abort Keith because they won’t sell the morning after pill over the counter. If they did, like condoms, we would not even have an issue with abortion. In the meantime, it works great for birth control.

And leave those poor gays alone. Let them live and pursue happiness.

  • Hymie Saks

Not a mistake friend. Quite the contrary. it was a great achievement.

  • XSANDIEGOCA

Does any rational person believe that 1400 Cuban exiles from Miami could have defeated the Cuban Army (and it’s broad popular support) with a bit of “air support”? Or was this just a ploy to get the United States military involved to get us to do what the Cuban people should do for themselves if that’s what they want?
Mr. Buchannan has conveniently left out Nixon’s ignominious departure from Washington under threat of impeachment (and certain conviction)and his pathetic “I am not a crook” protest. Together with the other disastrous policies Nixon imposed on the nation, it makes his presidency one of the worst in history. But one does have to admire Mr. Buchannan’s sense of loyalty to his former boss!

  • Jason_In_Miami

    Huh?!

  • Jason_In_Miami

Which endless war was started by a Democrat? Who signed the Patriot Act? Otherwise, though, I agree with you. Republicans don’t stop abortion and gay marriage when they are in power because they need those issues for the next election. Democrats don’t ban assault rifles or enact any of the rest of their “agenda” when they are in power because they need those issues for the next election.

Yeah… and we get to buy that same item over, over, and over, and over, and over, again and again and again. BUT HEY! It always looks brand new.

My 10 year old China made coffee pot is awesome, only cost me $ 600.00. Let me pay it out over time and gave me a brand new one with each payment. Man! Is this awesome or what?

    You’re not only a Kapo; you’re an IDI0T Kapo.

Some years ago, even Brother Patrick called JFK “an improving president.”

JFK’s tenure will be long remembered for two notable accomplishments: 1) The tax cuts, which spurred a big American economic boom in the 1960′s, and 2) committing America to place a man on the moon before the end of the 1960′s.

For this, JFK will be remembered for ages, along with such explorers as Magellan and Vasco da Gama.

JFK’s vision fueled a hi-tech boom which continues to benefit America to this day.

  • Altosackbuteer

    That is INSANE.

  • Altosackbuteer

Unfortunately, your opinion about Israel runs against the FACTS.

The “Green Line” you refer to was the 1967 border, which was obliterated forever during the 6-Day War of June, 1967.

Nixon didn’t become President until 1969.

It was therefore far too late for him to tell Israel to get in back of the Green Line.

  • Altosackbuteer

Assuming you’re correct about the impossibility of 1400 Cuban refugees being able to land at the Bay of Pigs and overthrow Castro, then surely, JFK was remiss in allowing the project to go forward in the first place — no?

  • Altosackbuteer

China — and I believe Japan too — revere and venerate the elderly, and consider them to be a fountain of wisdom.

  • Altosackbuteer

And as for JFK’s supposed half-Jewish bloodlines into perpetuity, be known two things, Kapo:

    1) Caroline Kennedy’s children, notwithstanding their Jewish father, are NOT Jewish, since SHE’S not Jewish. Those youngsters are every bit as Gentile as JFK himself.

    2) But even if they were “half-Jewish,” there’s NOTHING permanent about that. All they need do is find a fine, 100% fully Gentile Irish lass, and thos children will have 25% Jewish blood quotient, etc.

  • Altosackbuteer

Kapo, if I didn’t know you better, I’d swear that the gibberish you just wrote above was actually a brilliant satire against the evils of Big Government.

McCain would not have been ozero: if McCain had been elected you would not have ocare, Kagan an Sotomayor on the Sup. Ct. for life, Fast and Furious the IRS suppressing the 2012 vote, Benghazi, or spying on journalists, tho’ you might still have had the NSA problems. You would not have chaos in the Middle East because McCain would not have fostered and sent arms to the Muslim Brotherhood and Isael would not be alienated. We would not have Germany saying it doesn’t trust the US, and English not believing in ozero’s “red line” in Syria. You would not have had wasteful BILLIONS thrown at “green” technology and former Dem. donors, not have had unemployment at real 15% levels for five years, and not still have a lagging ec. burdened with Dodd-Frank and ocare and a Sen. that has not passed a budget in five years.

Mustn’t use the n-word but it’s OK for MSNBC’s Martin Bashir to spew filth about Sarah Palin and for Oprah to smear America as racist, “There’s a level of disrespect … because he’s African American. There are still generations of people, older people, who were born and bred and marinated in it, in that prejudice and racism, and they just have to die.”

Regardless of their enmity, Oprah and Michelle Obama, “Americans are downright mean” have much in common.

    -John McCain

With John (I-never-met-a-war-I-didn’t-love) McCain, we would have wars in Syria, and Iran, at the very least. Since the NSA problem is the reason Germany does not trust the US, we would still have the Germans not trusting the US. We’d have fracking and contaminated water in every aquifer in the country. And the economy would be even worse than it is.

  • BostonMary

You must mean, “Is this the greatest BANKRUPT country or what!”

  • Altosackbuteer

Well — I’ll tell it here.

Sometime in the mid 1970′s, I was invited to a Jewish wedding, held at The Brooklyn Jewish Center on Eastern Parkway.

I was running a little bit late, so I was literally running, trying to find the place, and I almost ran past it when I spotted it. I was wearing cheap shoes, and my feet slid out from under me, like I was sliding into 3rd base.

I got to the top of the stairs, and a very old rabbi, with a long, white beard, looked at me and shook his head slowly and sadly. Someone told me that was Rabbi Jacobson, though the name meant nothing to me at the time — until later, when I heard about the Kennedy Curse.

Sometime, either shortly before the Nazi invasion of Poland or shortly thereafter, a young Rabbi Jacobson got out of Europe with a number of his followers, and booked passage on a steamship for the United States. As it so happened, Joseph P. and his family were also on board. And, even though they were mere passengers, Joseph P. had de facto command and control over the ship.

And Joseph P. was a vicious anti-semite. (In 1938, the German Ambassador to London sent two wires back to Berlin, which survived the war, in which he spoke about meeting Kennedy. Ambassador Dirksen told Berlin, Kennedy had expressed great sympathy and support for how Germany was handling its Jewish problem, adding that he belonged to the Brookline [MA] Country Club, which had a policy of excluding Jews. In his novel Fatherland, Robert Harris adds footnotes to the back in which he makes reference to these cable messages, and attests to their authenticity.)

Anyway, Jacobson and his men wanted to have a room to pray in. Jews are supposed to pray 3 times per day inside a prayer quorum of 10.

And Kennedy wouldn’t allow it, but finally gave in and said, they could have a certain room for 15 minutes. But it takes an hour to recite the morning service, said Jacobson. And Kennedy repeated, you got 15 minutes.

So they started praying, and the 15 minutes lapsed, and true to his word, Kennedy came in and stopped the prayers, and dragged Jacobson out by his beard. And Jacobson cried out, “You will live to see your sons dead!” And thus originated the Kennedy Curse.

This story is briefly mentioned in the recent book of that name — The Kennedy Curse.

And sure enough, The Ambassador’s sons started dying off one at a time. JFK almost died in the South Pacific. Joseph P. Jr. did die in an airplane explosion in 1944 while doing what was tantamount to a suicide mission.

One of the Ambassador’s daughters died in another plane crash shortly after WWII in the company of her blue-blooded English boyfriend.

Fat Boy Teddy Bare himself ALMOST died in yet another plane crash in 1962. And JFK of course himself died in 1963.

I believe The Ambassador himself died in 1969 — after seeing yet another son die, Robert F.

There is a sequel to the story. Fat Boy Teddy Bare had gotten wind of The Curse, and wanted to know how to get rid of it, so he had a consultation with the Bobover Rebbe. And the Bobover told him, in Judaism, there are three traditional remedies for an evil decree — prayer, performance of the Commandments, and good deeds. The Bobover added that, as a Gentile, the first two avenues were closed to Teddy, but the 3rd one was open. He added, in practical terms, “performance of kind deeds” often meant, donation of lots of money to charity, and if Teddy would do this, he might reverse the evil decree.

Evidently, Teddy took the Bobover’s advice, because he alone of his brothers lived to a ripe old age.

So the question arises, did Rabbi Jacobson actually himself lay a curse on The Ambassador? And I would say, no he did not.

Rather, what Jacobson did was to SEE what was going to happen. Jacobson received a bit of prophetic insight. He inferred from the way Kennedy treated him what kind of man and what kind of father he was, and how this would tend to drive his sons into behaviors which could get them killed.

    From “Scientific American”, without comment:
“In Pennsylvania, the closer you live to a well used to hydraulically fracture underground shale for natural gas, the more likely it is that your drinking water is contaminated with methane. This conclusion, in a study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences USA in July, is a first step in determining whether fracking in the Marcellus Shale underlying much of Pennsylvania is responsible for tainted drinking water in that region.”

Gee, McCain would ot have been perfect as a pres. BUT HE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN OZERO.

  • Jason_In_Miami

So a deeper economic disaster and a few more wars would make the situation better?

  • MJBinAL

You need to go back to John McCain’s prior statements. You are sorta correct, we would not have ObamaCare, we would instead have McCainCare and Republicans would have their fingerprints on it as well.

Foreign wars? McCain was and is even worse than Obama and worse that G.W. Bush.

Taxes? McCain is all in to “balance the budget” by “compromising” with the Democrats with tax increases to match pretend cuts.

No, harsh and sad as it is, Obama over McCain WAS and IS the “lesser of the evils”.

None of this of course, makes Obama any better, it is important not to assume however that since Obama is a disaster, that McCain would have automatically have been better. Not F$%G likely!

  • rennyangel2

What are you? Obtuse? 1) McCain would never have been in any way not voted by Cong., and I cannot see a Dem. Sen. voting him “a war” any more than it would vote one for ozero; 2) without the “stimulus” (just wasted borrowing) and all the other oppressive regs. and laws passed by Dems. (including the deficits and spiraling debt that siphons money out of circulation) to hinder the ec., the nation would likely have righted itself within 18 mons. under McCain, and we would be in a “normal” ec. not with 9 million jobs permanently lost and millions more out of the workforce.

  • MJBinAL

And how has that been working out for them?? Hmmm?

This is my last response to people with fingers in their ears. McCain was always a fiscal cons. He used to give a Golden Fleece award monthly to the worse gov. expenditure he could publicize. As a pres., his prior actions should predict his in-office agenda, just as ozero’s comm. organizer roots and radical pals background predicted his “transformation” or America, gov. expansion, and division politics.

Nixon opened the door to China but also took us off the Gold Standard and fooled around with price controls. It was the Vietnam War that made the Generals realize the power of the TV News Media and that is why they have so much control over all media today. It was Watergate that made the media realize how much power they really had after they assassinated Nixon, they were dancing in the streets even though it took months and months even years of half truths and lies to finally bring him down.

“If the protective metal casing and concrete around a fracking well are leaky, methane can escape into them. The study does not prove that fracking has contaminated specific drinking-water wells. Actually one can make a very good case that the ‘media’ (or at least the bigshots that run it) realized how much control they could exert from the results of the Kennedy-Nixon debates. Speaking of president..Current and past..

    People don’t forget WOODROW Wilson…Little history ..

WITH POWERFUL JEWS BEHIND HIM, Woodrow Wilson has done more to bring America into the hands of international Jewry’s pernicious designs than any other president.

As Jewry’s abject pawn, Wilson was instrumental in creating:

    • The Federal Reserve Bank (Jewry’s Debt Instrument)
    • The Federal Trade Commission (Jewry’s Economic Instrument)
    • The Federal Income Tax (Jewry’s White Slave Instrument)
    • The Federal Intervention of WWI (Jewry’s Globalist Instrument)

In Curtis Dall’s book, “FDR – My Exploited Father-In-Law,” when comparing FDR to Wilson, the author makes a connection between the overweening influence of powerful Jewish figures at the outset of Wilson’s presidency and his subsequent ‘illness’ during his second term:

“Bernard Baruch would often walk into the Democratic Headquarters in 1912 with Wilson in tow, leading him like one would a poodle on a string.

Wilson would be given his ‘indoctrination course’ by several of the top Advisers assembled there. Reversing his role as classroom idealist, Wilson became a well-behaved, political pupil.”

A major factor brought to bear on Wilson’s ‘controllability’ was his affair with Mrs Mary Peck during his Princeton years. As it turned out, Wilson’s first lady, Edith Galt, ran the country when the president became ill.” View Entire Story Here.

Dall makes mention of the book, “When the Cheering Stopped,” which chronicles in painstaking detail the events leading to Wilson’s “nervous breakdown” in 1919:

“On September 25, 1919, while on a national speaking tour, Wilson fell ill in Wichita and was forced to cancel the rest of his trip.

His personal physician, Dr Cary Grayson, informed executive aides that, ‘The President has suffered a complete nervous breakdown.’ View Entire Story Here & Here.

Until the end of Wilson’s second term in 1921, his wife, Edith Bolling Galt, ran the affairs of the Executive Office, a role denied to Wilson’s vice president, Thomas Marshall.

Thus ensued what was known only by rumour throughout Washington: “The Petticoat Presidency” of Woodrow Wilson.

BEDRIDDEN DURING THE REMAINING YEARS of his presidency, Woodrow Wilson slept while an international network of Jewish financiers took control of America.

Bernard Baruch, a Jewish Wall Street tycoon, with ties to European Jewish bankers, particularly Paul Warburg, who became the first head of the Federal Reserve Bank, consolidated his power over the US military and American industries when acting as the Chairman of the War Industries Board.

It was this entity that was assigned the role of dictating co-operation between industry and the military during and after WWI.

Eugene Meyer, who rose to great wealth in his years at Jewish investment bank, Lazard Freres, and as a major decision maker of the New York Stock Exchange, used his role as head of the War Finance Corporation in 1918 to bring both the US military and US industries under the heel of Jewish bankers.

Meyer later went on to head the Federal Reserve Bank in 1930, the Washington Post in 1933, and the World Bank in 1956.

  • GomeznSA

Jason, you do realize that you have the option of educating yourself regarding the Bay of Pigs? Such knowledge might give you more insight into what motivated jfk.

  • Silva M Joseph

At a Congressional Hearings in 1930 convened to determine the eligibility of Meyer to head the Federal Reserve, Louis McFadden, Chairman of the House Banking Committee, testified against Meyer’s nomination:

“Eugene Meyer has had his own crowd with him in the government since he started in 1917.

His War Finance Corporation personnel took over the Federal Farm Loan System and almost immediately afterwards the Kansas City Join Stock Land Bank and the Ohio Joint Stock Land Bank were destroyed.”

Indeed, Meyer’s own crowd, who used Woodrow Wilson as their poodle on a string – leading to his subsequent ‘insanity’ – have been the power brokers of the American political, military, and industrial scene ever since.

Yes — Rosemary Kennedy did indeed live out her life institutionalized BECAUSE JOSEPH P. THE AMBASSADOR HAD HER LOBOTOMIZED BEHIND HIS WIFE’S BACK.

Rosemary Kennedy was MILDLY ret@rded (yes; that word too, when spelled properly, is a Disqus no-no), but quite functional. But Joseph P. feared she’d inherited the Kennedy trait of satyriasis without a great deal of self-control. He was afrid she’d get herself in a family way outside of wedlock, so he had her lobotomized.

His wife Rose never forgave him for this. Hence, she may have had a lot of fun playing with him after Nature, in effect, lobotomized him with a stroke.

  • Jason_In_Miami

There’ve been a few presidents since JFK. None of them have seen fit to invade Cuba. Indeed, what, exactly, could we expect to gain from such an adventure?!

When the French People wanted to be rid of the monarchy, they fought the FRENCH Revolution; when the American People wanted to be rid of King George, we fought the AMERICAN Revolution. This is how peoples gain their freedom; THEY fight for it. They don’t abandon their country as REFUGEES, call themselves “exiles”, and expect others to fight and die in their stead.

No real American could make a statement as absurd as “The 1400 Cuban exiles should have been just the spearhead of an American operation.” Those of us who are actual Americans have a duty and obligation to THIS country. Let the Cubans take care of Cuba. If they ever grow a pair and decide to leave Miami and fight for THEIR country, fine. But neither the American President not the American citizenry have any obligation to go and fight their battles while they hide out here.

If Richard Nixon was elected President in 1960 (and he lost by only 160,000 votes), then perhaps:

My twin brother tells me that Admiral Zumwalt tells an interesting story about that.

The previous November, Zumwalt took the train from Washington to Philadelphia, to take in the annual Army – Navy game, and as it happened, shared his compartment with none other than Kissinger. Kissinger proceeded — to Zumwalt’s horror — to regale him with his view that the United States was destined to fall to the USSR, and that his job, as he saw it, was to manage America’s foreign policy in such a way so as to minimize the damage.

Forewarned about Kissinger was forearmed. The following October, Israel desperately needed resupply — and Kissinger was blocking it. So Zumwalt went right over his head and appealed to Nixon personally, and Nixon came through.

It’s not that any actual aid arrived before the war ended — it did not. But, with America’s promise of imminent aid, the Israel’s felt they could afford to use their last reserves of munitions to carry the war to a successful conclusion, which otherwise they’d not dared to have done.

Modern war is a tremendously expensive consumer of supply.

There is a fellow, named Edward Klein I think(?) — anyway, there is a book he wrote called The Kennedy Curse, which is available on Amazon, and in it, he mentions Rabbi Jacobson by name. And I can tell you, I know from personal experience that he actually existed.

Take a visit to Jewish Brooklyn. All the Orthodox know about this story.

  • Altosackbuteer

No, Kapo, the strong suspicion here is that YOU actually don’t at all believe what YOU say, that it’s all satire, since nobody could possibly believe such NONSENSE that you state. See DG above.

    Well put, Mr. Buchanan.

Nixon was undoubtedly a tragic hero. As time goes by, my appreciation for him grows more and more. Yes, the man had his flaws and yes he did ‘abuse’ power, but what president hadn’t? On accomplishment alone, Nixon ranks as one of the greats, and I think history will one day look upon him much more favorably.

As for JFK, had he not been assassinated, he would have turned out just like Obama: good looks, good speeches, incompetent, and indecisive.

Without being a great expert myself on the matter, I believe that the Bay of Pigs operation was something that the CIA had been planning well before JFK took his oath of office on January 20, 1961. In other words, JFK inherited an operation from the Eisenhower Administration.

The Bay of Pigs happened the following April.

I believe JFK was informed about it before the event, and decided not to rock the boat, and let it go through according to the existing plan, but then suddenly bleeped it all up at the last minute by getting cold feet.

The reason JFK could go along with it was because — unlike his younger brother Teddy — JFK was, if nothing else, a quintessential Cold Warrior who actually believed it was important to resist Communism and keep it from spreading.

Hence the stirring words in his Inaugural Address, about America sparing no expense, taking on any burden, to assure the survival of freedom in the world.

Do you agree that DemocRATS went after Richard Nixon for Watergate because:
    1) Nixon exposed Alger Hiss as a GRU spy.
    2) He won the 1972 Prsidential election in a landslide.
    3) Agnew called the crazy bunny media nasty names.
    4) Nixon forgot the invite the Owner of the Washinton Post to the Big, Huge Ball. She let him have it with Bernstein and Woodward, who were hacks.
    5) Nixon was not gay, a molesteor like Bill Clinton, or a pervert like Obama, but a decent, honest, hard working, God Fearing American.

You build atomic bombs, you wage wars, you murder, cheat, and lie to us and try to make us believe it’s for our own good, yet we’re the criminals..With Jeremy Hammond, American Political Prisoner Sentenced To 10 Years..

was sentenced last week to 10 years in prison and three years of supervised release for hacking into the intelligence contractor Strategic Forcasting (or Stratfor) and other government, law enforcement and military suppliers’ websites.

The Stratfor hack resulted in cache of 5.2 million leaked emails and account information for approximately 860,000 Stratfor subscribers and clients, including information from 60,000 credit cards. To list a few of the many revelations, the emails revealed domestic spying on activists, including Occupy Wall Street; surveillance through personal management programs or fake online personas (“sock puppets”); and attempts to link American activist and journalist Alexa O’Brien to al-Qaeda. The Stratfor hack pullled back the curtain on the ofttimes illegal goings-on in the shadowy world of intelligence contractors.

Mr. Hammond’s supervised release includes limited computer access and prohibits him using encryption and from associating with civil disobedience groups. The ban on encryption shows a fundamental misunderstanding of how the Internet works. Encryption is used in nearly every online transaction, such as email, social networking and online banking. The broad ban on freedom of association raises potential Constitutional issues. At the time of his arrest, Mr. Hammond was working under the banner of AntiSec, an offshoot of the hacktivist collective Anonymous.

  • Altosackbuteer

What “lies” are those? And, Talmud is NOT “a book.”

  • Altosackbuteer

    You’re missing the point.

There was no evil spirit which could be exorcised.

And the advice which the Bobover Rebbe gave Fat Boy Teddy Bare was not mystical; neither was it something which a Catholic priest could not also have prescribed, had he the wit to know how to reverse evil decrees.

As for the source of “evil decrees”: First of all, keep in mind that what we may define as evil, doesn’t mean that it didn’t come from God. For example, if a new-born infant dies 3 days after birth, surely you would not say an evil spirit did it; rather, you should say, it was the will of God. God’s ways are not our ways.

A passage in the Koran of all places illustrates an interesting point.

M00-hamhead asks Allah, why does Allah punish sinners? And Allah replies, He does no such thing. Rather, sinners punish themselves. In other words, sin bears its own evil consequence.

The “evil spirit” responsible for the Kennedy Curse was none other than Joseph P. Kennedy Sr. himself.

  • DG

But some power makes the curse actually harm people over time.
Whether evil can properly be said to come from God is not totally clear. I’m inclined towards what you said– “In other words, sin bears its own evil consequence.” God allows evil to happen, as it must to sinners (or freedom is meaningless). But God allowing it to happen is not quite the same thing as God doing the evil Himself. When we do the devil’s promptings, we can expect to have him for company, and the evil that he embodies will affect us too. That’s why I say the devil “enforces” the curse. And why an exorcism can be effective.

The Rockefeller Faction that controlled the Republican Party made sure that George Wallace ran, for Nixon to be elected. They also made sure to have Humphrey denounced daily, by the National News Media as a Johnson Stooge and dunce.

Yet, he lost with less than one percent, and Wallace took about 19 percent of the total voters, and most of them were democrats, and they sure in the hell were not going to vote for Nixon.

Buchanan is being deceptive; Kennedy ended up ordering a pullout of troops from Nam. One of the reasons he was killed. Kennedy had planned to pull all troops out and end the Viet-Nam involvement. He was working toward peace, while the Military Industrial Complex, CIA and Joint Chiefs were pushing for more war. Kennedy may not have been an ideal person, but he was fighting the Security State that we now have to deal with. It has grown a lot in those 50 years.

    You’re wrong.

Find somewhere on the Internet cables which the German Ambassador Dirksen to London sent back to Berlin in 1938. he sent two cables in which he mentioned The Ambassador. These cables survived the war. In them, Dirksen reported that Kennedy expressed great admiration for how Germany was handling its Jewish problem, and added that he was proud to belong to the Brookline (MA) Country Club, which had a policy of excluding Jews.

After the Nazi invasion of Western Europe in 1940, FDR’d had enough of Kennedy and recalled him to America permanently, and refused to speak to him ever again. It was at this point that Kennedy, realizing that his own political ambitions were ruined forever, began plotting how he could get his sons to the highest levels.

If your theory about Kennedy disliking bankers were correct, he’d have had to dislike HIMSELF, because he was one of the sharpest, most uncrupulous money traders the United States ever knew. It was why FDR placed kennedy as Chairman of the SEC before making him The Ambassador, because FDR realized, who better to catch crooked bankers than the ultimate master himself, Joseph P. Kennedy Sr.?

I have this very wealthy lady friend back in the States. She lives in an upscale condo community and is worth something like $10 million, or maybe even more.

While she doesn’t collect SS as such, since she never worked outside the Federal government in her life and never got vested in SS, she is not the recipient of a number of government bennies which ordinarily go to the indigent — things like an EBT card, food stamps, fuel assistance.

She absolutely doesn’t need them. But she likes to collect everything she can. It’s like a video arcade game to her — the more bennies she can get, the higher her score.

She has no children to pass it all along to. I hope she remembers me in her will.

  • Altosackbuteer

    You’re still missing the point.

The only mystical event in all this was Rabbi Jacobson’s original flash of prophetic insight into the nature of The Curse which The Ambassador was himself creating and transmitting to his family.

For it is written in the 5 Books of Moses, “The sins of the fathers will be visited unto the children, unto the 3rd and 4th generations.”

I do believe that diabolical possession occurs — but it is EXCEEDINGLY RARE. MOST bishops — and it is a bishop which, in the Name of the Church, must sign-off on an exorcism before any priest is even allowed to attempt it — never encounter a single case of genuine possession in their entire careers.

Fat Boy Teddy Bare reasoned, since The Curse originated, in some fashion, from a rabbi, perhaps another holy rabbi might have an answer. And this was CORRECT.

  • Altosackbuteer

I chuckle at the Kennedy hagiographers who assure us that Kennedy was going to withdraw the troops from Vietnam. It ignores not only the fact that he himself introduced the original 16,000 “advisors;” it not only ignores the fact that he was behind the coup which assassinated Diem and his brother 3 weeks before his own assassination, but also ignores the FACT that JFK was, whatever else he may have been, the ULTIMATE COLD WARRIOR.

JFK actually believed strongly in standing up to Communism and containing it.

He said as much in his stirring Inaugural Address, when he spoke movingly about it being America’s job “to bear any burden, to pay any price,” to assure the triumph of freedom on earth.

  • Altosackbuteer

Wrong. There was nothing Jerry Thud could do. The Democratic Congress tied his hands by refusing to authorize the money needed to resupply South Vietnam.

PS: For a report about Dirksen’s cables, pick up a copy of the novel Fatherland, by Robert Harris (which was made into a cr@ppy HBO movie).

In his novel, Nazi Germany won WWII, and it is now 1964, and President Kennedy is flying to Berlin to be with Hitler on his 75th birthday. But it’s not President John F. Kennedy; rather, it’s President Joseph P. Kennedy Sr. who’s flying to Berlin. Because, in this alternate version of history, The Ambassador was never marginalized by his support of Hitler, because the Nazis, after all, won.

Harris posts footnotes in the back of his story in which he describes Dirksen’s cables and certifies that they were genuine, and they helped Harris form the germ of his story idea.

JFK was turning towards peace. It is on record that he wanted all troops out of Vietnam by the beginning of 1964. He may have come into office a ‘cold warrior’, but when he found out how things were being run by the military and CIA he turned toward peace.

JFK gave the ‘peace’ speech at the American University in June, 1963.
General Curtis Lemay wanted to do a nuclear first strike on Russia, and the CIA were stirring up trouble around the globe without knowledge of the prez.
JFK was turning toward peace, and away from nuclear war. He had come into office a cold warrior but quickly turned around when he saw the insanity before him. I don’t think he would have given in to the expansion of soviet communism, but we will never know.
It is a fact that Kennedy ordered all troops to be pulled out of Vietnam by 1964; not because he favored socialism, but because he hated war, having just fought in one. He knew it was not the answer.

  • Keith VanderLaan

Mr. Kennedy knew all the tricks of the trade, so to speak, that was why FDR appointed him Chairman. Ambassador Kennedy made his fortune and did exactly what he could to get that fortune— thats the point. [[I have an uncle who always tells me, show me a man who has a fortune and theres always a "story" that goes with it. You look long enough and theres a story so to speak! haha]] Mr Kennedy was unscrupulous and associated with mobsters and he would do anything to get ahead. Years and yrs ago, Boston was very WASPY and they despised Irish-Catholics. And he married the mayors daughter and wanted to show the Boston Protestants, who didnt like him because he was Irish, that they would eventually have to go to him —- he wouldnt go to them. He behaved the way some Jews do. Irishmen and Jews had a similar approach in making money back then. Im not judging them, Im just saying some people do things like that to get ahead. I think it is wrong to think all the Irish back then were nothing more than thugs and hooligans and some shanty Irish had to act that way I suppose. And people often take things out of context. In the 1930s, Europeans and Bostonians often said things about Jews, the way people say things about Muslims now. I dont think all Muslims are warmongers, but alot are. I have read reports were America’s founding fathers said the most ridiculous statements about blacks! They used to call them darkies and treated them like they had the brains of infants incapable of intelligence. This doesnt mean they were necessarily racist—-it just means that was how people treated them back then because people are rude in their thinking.

The Plot Against America is a novel by Philip Roth published in 2004. It is an alternative history in which Franklin Delano Roosevelt is defeated in the presidential election of 1940 by Charles Lindbergh. The novel follows the fortunes of the Roth family during the Lindbergh presidency, as antisemitism becomes more accepted in American life and Jewish-American families like the Roths are persecuted on various levels. The narrator and central character in the novel is the young Philip, and the care with which his confusion and terror are rendered makes the novel as much about the mysteries of growing up as about American politics. Roth based his novel on the isolationist ideas espoused by Lindbergh in real life as a spokesman for the America First Committee and his own experiences growing up in Newark, New Jersey. The novel depicts the Weequahic section of Newark which includes Weequahic High School from which Roth graduated.

I think people like JFK because of a feeling of hope and wonder, and Mrs. Kennedy was very good at conveying a message she wanted people to think of when they thought of the Kennedy administration. Americans, Canadians, French, English, you name any people from most countries, and they think highly of President and Mrs Kennedy. I was born after Kennedy had died, but i even think good things about JFK! When i was young, especially when i would visit my family at the farm, at night, I would look up into the stars and I still do this now—-but it sucks because in the city you cant see the stars as much as you can as when you are away from the city—–but anyway, at night you look up into the stars and you feel that feeling…..sometimes its the same kind of feeling of when you think of JFK! It is hope and awe and sometimes even though you are older and been around the block a few times, you still look up at the stars and feel the awe but its more mellow and not as hopeful, but still somewhat hopeful and amazement, etc. I am so glad that JFK liked astronauts! Astronauts are the best. They are the best heroes and we need them! It pisses me off that we dont treat astronauts like we used to!! We need NASA and we need to explore space and we must keep up with the science and exploration! JFK would want us to explore and never give up our hopes and imagination and he thought heroes were astronauts!!!!!

The Bobover Rebbe’s advice WAS the answer, however.

By the way, I’m in the middle of an amazing book now called “Swallowed by Satan” in which a veteran h0m0sexual named Joseph R. Sciambra — which makes him a paesan like you. Sciambra tells about his descent into the gay world of SF, where he spent around 15 – 20 years of his life, doing an almost infinitely long series of ever-increasingly and disgusting gay acts, which he describes in full graphic detail.

He has had a full return to traditional Catholicism.

He describes literally diabolical things he saw and experienced. He seems to described being partially possessed. However, he doesn’t refer to any exorcism.

“Curses” are something which we bring upon ourselves. Since we are the authors of our own plights, the solution therefore also must come from us.

  • Altosackbuteer

You are correct. Nevertheless, it is useful to get an “asked and unanswered” on the record. By the way, I Liked your avatar.

“By the BEGINNING of 1964″ JFK was going to get all the troops out of Vietnam?

That remark simply PROVES the falsity of the pro-JFK side who assures us that he was GONNA get the troops out. JFK was assassinated about 5 – 6 SHORT WEEKS before the beginning of 1964 — and not a single troop had been withdrawn. If nothing else, getting them out before 1964 began was a logistical impossibility.

Indeed, by encouraging the South Viet generals to stage a coup against Diem (though actually executing him and his brother shocked JFK), JFK thereby signaled his CONTINUING INTEREST in PERSISTING with resisting Communism in Vietnam.

If JFK were truly going to withdraw the troops, why would he care one way or another who ran South Vietnam thereafter?

No — the idea that the saintly JFK had seen the light and was going to “give peace a chance” is simply hagiographical mythology.

  • Altosackbuteer

Does JFK’s enormous appetite for using and abusing women inspire you also to look up in the stars to behold him?

However, you are quite correct about exploration of outer space. Much as I generally dislike most things pertaining to the Kennedys (who in my opinion are nothing more than wealthy shanty-town trashy Micks), JFK will go down in history as one of History’s immortals for what he did to promote space exploration.

As much as I dislike anything proceeding from Øbama or Liveshot, I reluctantly have to agree that the Monroe Doctrine is now a dead letter and has outlived its usefulness. The world has gotten too small for it to be effective. And, the Monroe Doctrine offends our Latin American neighbors, as well it might.

When it was promulgated, the United States was the sole independent state in the Western Hemisphere, save perhaps for Haiti, which had thrown out the French in an incredibly brutal revolution.

  • Altosackbuteer

I don’t care where that idi0t blogger went to school. If he said what you claim he said, he is just a Harvard-trained Idi0t.

The rest of this posting is sheer idi0cy. Jews don’t at all tell Whites, or anybody else, where to live. And most major city mayors are NOT Jewish. NYC has just replaced its Jewish mayor (who made it to the mayor’s office by spending zillions of his own money) with a Gentile.

  • Altosackbuteer

So why is it that when Joseph P. Sr. committed financial crimes he was “acting like a Jew”? Could it not be the reverse — that when Jewish moneymen commit financial crimes, they are acting like the Irish Joseph P. Sr.?

The talent required to commit financial crimes is certainly not exclusively Jewish. LOTS of Gentiles — especially WASPy ones — play that game very well too.

There was a French writer in the 19th Century — Balzac it may have been — who wrote, “Behind every great fortune is a great crime.”

Your opinion that Joseph P. Sr. joined the ranks of the WASP’S by marrying the Boston mayor’s daughter is WRONG. Joseph P. Sr. married “Honey Fitz” Fitzgerald’s daughter. She was an IRISH CATHOLIC lass. In fact, the church where she was baptized, in Boston’s North End, still functions as a Catholic church, and proudly has a plaque which commemorates this event.

When Joseph P. Sr. married Rose Fitzgerald, not long after the turn of the 20th Century, the Irish takeover of Boston and then MA politics had long been underway.

As for Joseph P Sr. being an anti-semite — well, we know Joseph P. Sr. was a supporter of the notorious antisemitic radio personality Fr. Coughlin. We know about the cables about him which Ambassador Dirksen sent back to Berlin. We know that FDR sacked him in disgust for being pro-Nazi. And we know how Joseph P. Sr. treated Rabbi Jacobson.

All in all, that sounds like Jew hatred which goes above and beyond the average call of the day.

I have read Roth’s novel and I too liked it.

  • therevolutionwas

The coup was not JFK’s idea. The CIA and even some of his own staff were working against him. There was a larger CIA presence in Vietnam than anyone knew. He had agreed to the CIA plan but later tried to stop it. His own CIA were working against him at that point.
I was no fan of Kennedy, but I am certainly not a fan of the police-security state that grew out of that time and is threatening our freedom today.

While I do not share your dislike of Obama, the Monroe Doctrine is clearly a 19th century anachronism.
We have bases all over the world, including some in countries we had previously tried to keep out of the Western Hemisphere.

OK; I will try to make the difference clear to you.
My source, Scientific American, “is an American popular SCIENCE magazine. It is notable for its long history of presenting scientific information on a monthly basis to the general educated public, through its careful attention to the clarity of its text as well as the quality of its specially commissioned color graphics. Many famous scientists, including ALBERT EINSTEIN, have contributed articles in the past 168 years. It is the oldest continuously published monthly magazine in the United States.”

Bostonmary’s source, American Thinker, on the other hand, is ” a DAILY CONSERVATIVE online magazine dealing with American politics, foreign policy, national security, Israel, economics, diplomacy, culture and military strategy.”
See the difference? Or are you so committed to oil-company-sponsored propaganda that facts no longer matter to you?

  • BostonMary

That quote was from the Scientific American article YOU posted above, Jason!

As Usual … Well Done, Patrick J.
JFK was a fraud, a puppet for his corrupt, criminal daddy. Some are NOW saying that JFK was his daddy’s choice all along, NOT Joe, Jr. I tend to doubt that. Oh, and, RFK was just as bad if not worse. He was the hoor-monger and drug dealer.

QUOTE: ” Where Eisenhower had 600 advisers in Vietnam, JFK increased it to
16,000 and gave his blessing to a generals’ coup in which our ally, President Ngo Dinh Diem, was assassinated. Then and there, Vietnam became America’s war.”

The Diem assassination did it for me. The CIA had many reasons to off JFK.
OH, and THEN i discovered through research that after his PT-109 went down, JFK was slated for Court Martial until his daddy whispered in FDR’s ear.

I served with some of those “advisers”, and to a man they all said that they were Combat Troops who led and served with the South Vietnam’s troops into battle after training them. It was no secret. Many were killed and/or wounded.

As for the One Million Five Hundred Thousand (1.5 million) troops who “served” in Vietnam over the years, fully NINETY percent (90%) were SUPPORT troops. The country was chock full with ticket-punchers like Jean Kerée and AlGore, Jr., who also only served FOUR months – behind a typewriter at the NCO club in Saigon. At least AlGore has never tried to exaggerate HIS service.
And finally, a new book reveals a well-researched theory re: JFK’s assassination – the posited theory claims that LBJ was behind the coup. Makes sense.
BTW … There WAS more than one shooter and I will always believe that Oswald was a “patsy” of some sort. The BBC documentary lays it out quite nicely. As far as I know, it’s only been broadcast ONCE. I have seen ALL of the documentaries re: that day and incident.

As it happens, it’s now around noontime EST, and Human Events just now posted George Wills’ column about JFK, and here is what Wills had to say about JFK and his alleged desire to withdraw from Vietnam:

“Visitors to the Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum here, on the salt water across which his ancestors came as immigrants and on which he sailed his yacht, watch Kennedy press conferences, such as that of Sept. 12, 1963, when, responding to a question about Vietnam, he said his policy was to “win the war there”: “That is why some 25,000 Americans have traveled 10,000 miles to participate in that struggle.” He added: “But we are not there to see a war lost.” His answer was consistent with a 1956 speech calling Vietnam “the keystone to the arch, the finger in the dike,” adding: “This is our offspring — we cannot abandon it.”

A few years later, with the war going badly, several Kennedy aides claimed that he had been planning to liquidate the intervention. But five months after the assassination, Robert Kennedy told an oral-history
interviewer that his brother “had a strong, overwhelming reason for being in Vietnam and that we should win the war in Vietnam.”

Interviewer: “There was never any consideration given to pulling out?”

    RFK: “No.”

Interviewer: “. . . the president was convinced that we had to keep, had to stay in there  . . .”

    RFK: “Yes.”

    Interviewer: “. . . And couldn’t lose it.”

    RFK: “Yes.”

    ***

So there you are — it’s all just a mythology.

Maybe Kerry jettisoned it too hastily. He could have just altered it a bit, to “No foreign intervention into the U.S.” But then, he favors illegal immigration.

  • Jason_In_Miami

I don’t disagree with your assessment. I have yet to see any reason to believe that such a plan could have been successful as it was put forth. I seems more likely that it was just a ploy to get the US military involved in Cuba.

  • Jason_In_Miami

OK. What’s an acceptable failure rate, then? Dubya wanted to allow oil wells off the coast of Florida when he was president. Luckily, his brother Jeb took him aside and convinced him otherwise.
That’s because a single oil spill off Florida’s coast would wreck the economy for years. It would cost MONEY; but since fracking only harms PEOPLE, it’s fine, right?

” However, he doesn’t refer to any exorcism”
Like I said, there’s usually more than one way to get the job done. God is merciful.
A solution normally must involve our assent and cooperation. Except perhaps in the very rare cases of true possession, in which a vicarious assent by a third party (sort of like with infant baptism) can suffice.
My sense, for what it is or isn’t worth, is that it may be psychologically impossible for someone in Sciambra’s situation to return to mental (and spiritual) health all on his own. Somehow, God’s grace has to play a part.

True, he did indeed have that proof (as was amply demonstrated in his personal papers) but he opted to not reveal that proof. He realized that the country was in a dangerous place due to the cold war (along with some of the social angst that was present) and his estimation was that the country would not be able to withstand the trauma such a revelation would cause. Or else it would so divide us that kruschev might have used that as a pretext to launch a first strike. Either way, he did get elected later on, even with the sleight of hand from the shykago machine.

  • Gefilte-Gefilte Evrywhre

The the conclusion that JFK was murdered by a plot involving the
Secret Service, the CIA, and the Joint Chiefs of Staff has been well
established by years of research, such as that provided by James W.
Douglass in his book, JFK And The Unspeakable, published by
Simon & Schuster in 2008. Ignore Douglass’ interest in the Trappist
monk Thomas Merton and Merton’s prediction and focus on the heavily
    documented research that Douglass provides.

Or just turn to the contemporary films, taken by tourists watching JFK’s
motorcade that are available on YouTube, which show clearly the Secret
Service pulled from President Kennedy’s limo just prior to his
assassination, and the Zapruder film that shows the killing shot to have
come from President Kennedy’s right front, blowing off the back of his
head, not from the rear as postulated in the Warren Commission Report,
which would have pushed his head forward, not rearward.

I am not going to write about the assassination to the extent that the
massive information permits. Those who want to know already know. Those
who cannot face the music will never be able to confront the facts
regardless of what I or anyone else writes or reveals.

  • Gefilte-Gefilte Evrywhre

To briefly review, the facts are conclusive that JFK was on terrible
terms with the CIA and the Joint Chiefs. He had refused to support the
CIA organized Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba. He had rejected the Joint
Chiefs’ “Operation Northwoods,” a plan to commit real and faked acts of violence against Americans, blame Castro and use the false flag events to bring regime change to Cuba.

He had rejected the Joint Chiefs case that the Soviet Union should be attacked while the US held the advantage and before the Soviets could develop delivery systems for nuclear weapons. He had indicated that after his reelection he was going to pull US troops out of Vietnam and that he was going to break the CIA into a thousand pieces. He had aroused suspicion by working behind the scenes with Khrushchev to defuse the Cuban Missile Crisis, leading to claims that he was “soft on communism.”

The CIA and Joint Chiefs’ belief that JFK was an unreliable ally in the war against communism spread into the Secret Service.

  • Gefilte-Gefilte Evrywhre

It has been established that the original autopsy of JFK’s fatal head wound was discarded and a faked one substituted in order to support the official story that Oswald shot JFK from behind. FBI director J. Edgar Hoover and President Johnson knew that Oswald was the CIA’s patsy, but they also understood, as did members of the Warren Commission, that to let the true story out would cause Americans to lose confidence in their own government at the height of the Cold War.

Robert Kennedy knew what had happened. He was on his way to being elected president and to holding the plotters accountable for the murder of his brother when the CIA assassinated him.

  • Gefilte-Gefilte Evrywhre

Acoustic experts have conclusively demonstrated that more shots were
fired than can be accounted for by Sirhan Sirhan’s pistol and that the
sounds indicate two different calibers of firearms.

I never cease to be amazed by the gullibility of Americans, who know
nothing about either event, but who confidently dismiss the factual
evidence provided by experts and historians on the basis of their naive
belief that “the government wouldn’t lie about such important events” or
“someone would have talked.” What good would it do if someone talked
when the gullible won’t believe hard evidence?

JFK became this character we think of because of the assassination. Pat is right about the confusion in his administration and the chaos which resulted. However, as he died we’ll never know if a second term would have revealed a better President. One of the what-ifs in history.

  • SillieGander

Any American worth his salt would know that Richard Milhous Nixon (1913 – 1994) would not have handled civil rights any more different than John Fitzgerald Kennedy (1917 – 1963) or Lyndon Baines Johnson (1908 – 1973) had he been rightfully elected President on Tuesday November 8, 1960 and served in the 1960′s (1961 – 1969).
I am reading a good biography on John Fitzgerald Kennedy (1917 – 1963) and I believe that many critics may be right on all three counts except Miss Monroe (Marilyn Monroe (Norma Jeane Mortenson) (Dougherty DiMaggio Miller) (1926 – 1962)) would have overdosed on drugs (or met some other tragic end) sooner or later, and the Vietnam War would have taken several years to achieve the stalemate needed to preserve the freedom of Laos, Cambodia, and South Vietnam.
It’s can be difficult to say how Richard Milhous Nixon (1913 – 1994) would have ultimately fared if he served as POTUS in the 1960′s (1961 – 1969) as opposed to the 1970′s when he did serve as POTUS (1969 – 1974). I believe that Richard would have passed the Civil Rights Bill and the Voters Rights Bill as well as tax cuts and a modified version of the War on Poverty (the Great Society). He may not have expanded the size of government, but he would have better fought the Vietnam War (1945 – 1975) by invading North Vietnam (1954 – 1976) which might have brought a successful stalemate with the communists (as opposed to the ultimate defeat in Laos, Cambodia, and South Vietnam (1954 – 1975) when he liberal socialists failed to support this JUST WAR).

Richard Milhous Nixon (1913 – 1994) was a much better POTUS than ANY of your right wing libertarian conservatives COULD EVER turn out to be!

Which was why he was popular and he could get elected in 1968 and
1972, and perhaps in 1960 (if we lefties hadn’t stole the vote). Richard
Milhous Nixon (1913 – 1994) was a great President, he was Machiavellian
when he needed to be (as any great POTUS has to be in order to
survive). You libertarian conservatives could learn a thing or two
about politics from the great liberal-Republican. Your failure to keep
the liberal-Republicans (and by extension the conservative Democrats) in your fold has cost you four (4) of the past six (6) Presidentiads. You right wingers have basically sucked since 1988.

  • SillieGander

I don’t know about having geriatric POTUS’s by raising the age barrier from thirty five (35) years to sixty (60) years, as Ronald Wilson Reagan (1911 – 2004) was beginning to suffer from Alzheimer’s disease during the latter stages of his Presidency (1981 – 1989). I just think Americans should do a much better job of scrutinizing the candidate nominees much better than they do today.

  • SillieGander

Until you right wingers can convince a majority of Good Americans that conservative-libertarian ideas actually work, then I’m afraid you righties will always end up on the short end of the stick come election time.

  • SillieGander

If George Walker Bush Junior (1946 – ) hadn’t scre-ewed things up so royally during his Presidency (2001 – 2009) then you righties might have stood a better change against Barack Hussein (Barry Soetoro) Obama II (1961 – ).

  • SillieGander

If you right wingers had a better option in 2008 then America would like to hear it!

  • SillieGander

I am reading a very good biography on John Fitzgerald Kennedy (1917 – 1963) and I believe that you may be right on all three of your four counts except Miss Monroe (Marilyn Monroe (Norma Jeane Mortenson) (Dougherty DiMaggio Miller) (1926 – 1962)) would have overdosed on drugs (or met some other tragic end) sooner or later, and the Vietnam War would have taken several years to achieve the stalemate needed to preserve the freedom of Laos, Cambodia, and South Vietnam.

I highly doubt that William Jefferson “Bill” Clinton (William Jefferson Blythe III) (1946 – ) and Barack Hussein (Barry Soetoro) Obama II (1961 – ) would not have entered politics if Richard Nixon was President when he should have been (1961 – 1969). Richard Nixon was just as corrupt as JFK or LBJ were or any politician, so I don’t think that you would have had cleaner government in that regard.

Richard Milhous Nixon (1913 – 1994) was a much better POTUS than ANY of your right wing libertarian conservatives COULD EVER turn out to be!

You are correct about Richard Nixon, and you are always right.
I read that Richard Nixon liked German Romantic tenor songs like the one called “Der Linden Baum”.
” I dreamed in it’s shadow so many sweet dreams, and I carved in its bark so many sweet words”.
My german is still very good. I also speak the beautiful. classical, Pushkin Russian. I read French. My background in History, politics, and propaganda are superb and I am never, never wrong.
    I am a genius.

  • Jason_In_Miami

Again, what would the USA gain from the overthrow of Castro? How would you or I or any other average person in America benefit from such an action?
Surely, the Cuban Sugar Barons would benefit, and some cigar makers, and the Bacardis, and the Mafia-controlled casinos, but what national security purpose would have been served?
Cuba, being an island, is by definition isolated.

  • Jason_In_Miami

What is a Kapo? I am asking seriously, because I’ve never heard that term.

  • Keith VanderLaan

well, you are very blunt. He did have many trysts, but i blame the drugs he took due to his chronic pain, etc
And i view JFK and Mrs Kennedy as being more English-behaving and French than Irish anyway.
But I am glad you give them their due when it comes to space exploration.

  • Keith VanderLaan

JFK and Mrs. Kennedy were not your typical Irish types. Far from it. They had class. RFK had passion and was more down to earth. He was one of the good Irish types.

  • Keith VanderLaan

I like his novels. I kinda like Jewish authors. Do you like JD Salinger? btw are you Jewish? Arent you the guy from Poland?

  • Keith VanderLaan

i dont believe it — my uncle got that from Balzac! LOL but my uncle is an uneducated farmer. he is French, but i doubt he reads Balzac! ((ty for that info))

Anyway, i think you misunderstand my comment due to my horrific explanation—my fault. First I didnt mean to say Honey Fitz was a WASP — thats ridiculous. I meant to imply that Kennedy Sr married the daughter of the mayor –not to join their WASPY elitist club —but to establish his own club so to speak. He wouldnt have been accepted by the Boston Brahmins no matter whom he married, even if he married one of them. He wanted to succeed his way on his terms. Groups that were excluded back then did that. Thats what I mean. Jews did that too.
I didnt mean to disparage Jews or Irish. Actually im disparaging the Boston elites of those times. Jews and Irish did nothing worse than any of those Boston snobs. And breaking banking laws or committing financial crimes is not “acting Jewish” or “acting Irish” etc — it is acting like a banker. Most of the Boston bankers were WASPS then. And Jews often were bankers in many countries. Catholics were slow to be bankers because the Church had those silly laws about usury, etc — but thats too complicated to get into now. Irish did what they had to to get ahead. They are that way because they are Irish, — not because they are Catholic anyway.
Irish in America back then were scrappy and alot were thugs. Scotts and Irish in Australia were like that too—criminal-like. In America the Irish were like terrorists, but not like today. They were viewed more like thugs back then.

And often it is hard to look back in history and say if someone from the past is racist or sexist or hates Jews, etc.
People werent politically correct….that is a modern concept. You have to look at the context. I mean if someone had slaves now, they would be considered beyond evil; but, in the 1700s you could have slaves and you were considered a gentleman farmer, etc. btw I would hope i would have always thought owning slaves was wrong!

  • Hymie Saks

No, only the complete geniuses lost their homes because they kept making their monthly payments – even if it wasn’t for the full amount – or they didn’t have any jobs.

Like I’ve said, the main criteria for the re-modification of those mortgages were:

    1. You had to have a job and

    2. You had to be at least 6 months delinquent in your monthly payments.

  • Gefilte-Gefilte Evrywhre

I believe Kapo is a term used to describe jew prisoners who were used by the SS to keep other jew prisoners in line. Basically traitors.

Butt Sacker uses that term of endearment for Hymie because Hymie – as a Jew – won’t stand up for the crimes committed by isnreal. Or the crimes they are still committing. Hymie is a brave man. Butt sacker is a coward! I think that’s why Hymie replies in kind- by calling him a Kapo.

You Jason are a real man. Only cowards are afraid to ask others about something they don’t understand. Real men, intelligent men are confident in themselves and are only looking to attain knowledge, hence, are never afraid to let people know when they don’t understand something.

  • Keith VanderLaan

Oh I have been wondering this for awhile and this is an excellent opportunity to ask someone this. Can someone ((((does Pat Buchanan read his comment section and maybe he can say if no one knows in here))) tell me who wrote President Nixon’s speech that last day he spoke at the White House before he left? I like listening to past President’s speeches and everytime I listen to that speech of Nixons, it tugs at my heart. Everyone says such grand things about JFK—and rightfully so—-but Richard Nixon had his moments too. I dont know all of the “ugly stuff” that happened during the Nixon administration, nor do i really want to dwell on that, because some of it is unfair —- but i will say this much, Richard Nixon definitely had a good side, a side that most dont talk about. That speech where he mentions his background, and his family, and then TR and what Mr Roosevelt went through is amazing. The speech(its on youtube) is one of the best ones I heard a politician give. It is so moving. Did Mr. Nixon write that or did a speechwriter? Was it ad libbed or memorized? Its truly a moving speech. I listen to it every once in a while and it always makes me think of how complex man is. Richard Nixon in many ways understood life…..its not always the way we want it and we must carry on and never stop thinking of the future. In many ways, President Nixon was a tragic figure in a different way —and maybe he was more real than JFK somehow—and people dont like that. Its easier to like JFK more than Richard Nixon because one is a dream and the other is life.

  • Altosackbuteer

Actually, pretty close. When I saw that HOWLER above about Constantine and M00-hamhead, proving as nothing else can how STUPID he is — yah, I admit it; I came close to losing control and soiling myself with laughter.

    He belongs in your dunceclass.

  • Altosackbuteer

What a STUPID question, you Kapo ‘t@rd.

  • Altosackbuteer

You know NOTHING about Talmud, Kapo.

I don’t Gentiles, Jew-haters or otherwise, to know anything about it, but you are a Jew. Admittedly, a self-hating Jew, but nevertheless (to believe you), a Jew. YOU should know SOMETHING about Talmud, if only to understand where you and your ancestors have come from.

But you know NOTHING, which is proven by your IDI0TIC smear of Talmud as “satanic.”

You play right into the hands of your own people’s bitter enemies when you adopt their slander about the holy Talmud.

But that is what KAPOS do.

(PS: Talmud CAN’T be “satanic” because Satan is simply ignored in Talmud, as irrelevant.)

Which is why YOU ARE a Kapo.

  • Altosackbuteer

    1) As JFK and Reagan proved, the more you tax the rich, the LESS money you get in return — and vice-versa.

    2) And WHY should other governments happily give the United States anything the United States hasn’t earned?

    You are such an IDI0T.

    3) And a sea lane tax is nothing less than piracy.

For that matter, why should i not erect my own tool booth on the Brooklyn Bridge in NYC? It makes as much sense as your idi0cy.

So that is what the United States should do, according to you — prey parasitically on the trade of other countries, since the United States won’t produce for itself anymore.

What an incredibly BRAINLESS Kapo you are.

  • Altosackbuteer

A Kapo was a Jewish concentration camp inmate whom the Nazis were able to recruit to do a lot of their dirty work for them.

Essentially, the Nazis let him live if he were willing to help the Nazis kill more of his own kind.

In short, he was a traitor.

And Hymie Saks is a latter-day equivalent, for taking common cause with those who viciously hate his own people.

  • Altosackbuteer

What would America gain by the overthrow of Castro?

    Simple. Security.

Cuba had become a Western Hemisphere outpost of a hostile European power.

America has always freaked out over this since the days of President Monroe in 1823.

Traditionally, America ever thereafter was happy in the knowledge that two big oceans protected America from the rest of the world. Cuba going Red felt like a dagger in America’s sense of security.

  • Altosackbuteer

Oh — elsewhere, you called for the US Navy to collect tolls from ships traversing the world’s oceans, or the Navy won’t let them pass. That is PIRACY, but somehow you DON’T see that as unethical?

Why do I bother talking with a blithering f00l like you?

  • Altosackbuteer

I read Salinger’s novel Catcher in the Rye, as required reading from my Jesuit HS at the time. Otherwise I have never read him.

Read his book. He says, God was everything.

  • Altosackbuteer

    Nonsense.

  • Altosackbuteer

But, it is the sort of unvarnished naked Jew-hating reality that a Kapo like Hymie heeds to be exposed to.

  • Altosackbuteer

Actually, as it turned out, even if Nixon had carried IL, he’d still have lost the election.

  • Altosackbuteer

Nonsense. Oswald did it all by himself. Get Bugliosi’s book.

  • Altosackbuteer

Nothing of the sort has been established, you LIAR.

Oswald did it all by himself. Bugliosi PROVES it.

Though I know you take too much comfort in your insane fantasies, which increasingly make you insane, than face the hard truth.

  • Altosackbuteer

If how you look is 95% of politics, then cheer up — Hitlery ain’t got a chance.

  • Altosackbuteer

IDI0T, he also has recommended that the US Navy be deployed to collect tolls from vessels on the high seas, to pay for their “right of passage,” as a means of America scrounging up more money for the government to spend on us lazy citizens.

  • Altosackbuteer

Both Christianity and Islam have banned “usury.”

Christianity bases the ban on a passage in the 5 Books of Moses. However, if you look at that passage closely, it implies that while Jews may not loan at interest TO OTHER JEWS, the passage left open the issue of whether Jews could loan at interest to NON-Jews.

And this was the decision of the rabbis in the Talmud.

To this day, there are free-loan societies in the Orthodox Jewish neighborhoods, which extend interest-free loans to other Jews.

In the Middle Ages, the Catholic Church thought it was doing Jews a demeaning disservice by allowing them — forcing them, really — to be Europe’s bankers. But what the Church didn’t realize was that loaning at interest to non-Jews was no violation of Jewish law, as they saw it.

And loaning at interest is INDISPENSIBLE to the building of an economy. And how can there ever really be banking without interest? How can one ever expect a lender to take a big risk of not being repaid. and at best, get nothing in return for his risk?

As for slavery, this about this: The reason slavery was an institution for most of human history was because the value of human labor barely exceeded the daily cost of living.

In other words, most people engaged in human labor barely produced enough value to pay their own way.

There was a book Time on the Cross, which analyzed American slavery from an economic perspective. It concluded that slaves consumed 90% of the value of the wealth they created. In other words, they were barely worth their keep.

It is written in the Talmud, “He who has a slave, has a master.” Because, the slave OWNS YOU. Because, now, you have to feed the slave. House the slave. Clothe the slave. Nurse the slave when he gets ill. And he might die at any time, making you lose what you invested in him.

Industrialization was going to doom slavery in any event.

  • Altosackbuteer

I think Nixon did indeed play into their hands.

However, his sins were of a nature which they’d have been willing to overlook — as they did those of the Kennedys — if they hadn’t already loathed him as they did.

  • Wild_Bird

    Why is Hymie a “Kapo”?

Is it because he is a self-loathing Leftist Jew who makes common cause with vile anti-Jewish anti-Semites on the loony Left?

I say that because I believe most of the Jew hatred and anti-Semitism is on the Left and not the Right.

Many Leftist Jews are nominally Jewish as is the case for the majority of Leftist Christians who are nominally Christian.

These Leftist are doctrinaire moral relativists and devout members of the Church of Liberalism.

  • Jason_In_Miami

    Thank you!

  • Jason_In_Miami

And here we are 50-odd years later, snug-as-a-bug-in-a-rug! Without firing a single shot.

Not a bad outcome in my book.

  • Altosackbuteer

I believe you have seen my statement in which I said that the Monroe Doctrine has outlived its time.

But in 1963, it was still something that all American politicians instinctively believed had to be enforced.

By the way, what WAS it that JFK accomplished with the quarantine, anyway?

He freaked out because Russia was at the point of being able to threaten the United States with a nuclear war, so he brought the world to the brink of a nuclear war to make them back down.

But all he REALLY did was to buy about an extra five years of invulnerability because, by the late 1960′s, the Russians were capable of deploying missile-carrying submarines close to the United States anyway.

To me, it looked like JFK almost started a nuclear war for NOTHING, because he refused to bow to the reality of a shrinking world.

  • Altosackbuteer

PS: If you knew ANYTHING about the Talmud, and how it came into its present form, you’d not need to ask me “How can anything ‘oral’ survive in its original texts for thousands of yrs?”

SHAME on you for being a total ignoramus about your own heritage — KAPO.

  • Jason_In_Miami

The Congress was willing to overlook burglary?!

“Even with support diminished by the continuing series of revelations, Nixon hoped to win. However, one of the new tapes, recorded soon after the break-in, demonstrated that Nixon had been told of the White House connection to the Watergate burglaries soon after they took place, and had approved plans to thwart the investigation. In a statement accompanying the release of the “Smoking Gun Tape” on August 5, 1974, Nixon accepted blame for misleading the country about when he had been told of the truth behind the Watergate break-in, stating that he had a lapse of memory.[204] He met with Republican congressional leaders soon after, and was told he faced certain impeachment in the House and had, at most, only 15 votes in the Senate to vote for his acquittal—far fewer than the 34 he needed to avoid removal from office.

  • Altosackbuteer

    You got Hymie pegged correctly.

Jew-hatred comes from BOTH the Left and the Right. The Left hates Jews for being businessmen, bankers, etc; the Right hates Jews for being Socialists. And, in some cases, for religious reasons.

  • Jason_In_Miami

I don’t disagree with a single word of your post. I would point out, however, that it would have been very difficult politically for JFK to simply accept Soviet nuclear missile in Cuba. After all,

  • Altosackbuteer

    “Difficult politically” in what way?

At that time, the American People themselves would have had a great deal of difficulty accepting the missiles. The American People grew up loving the United States because it was far and remote from their warring countries of origin. America was a place where they could feel SAFE again.

And JFK was of course a product of this same kind of conditioning.

If he didn’t want the American People to know, all he had to do was keep the matter secret. Who was going to tell the American People — the Russians?

I submit that JFK himself had difficulty accepting the missiles — and in that, he was far, far from alone. All the people around him had grown up culturally with the idea that America had a God-given right to be absolutely isolated from wars on other continents.

  • Jason_In_Miami

He could not have kept it a secret from the generals and politicians who were trying to pressure JFK into wars; given that ” All the people around him had grown up culturally with the idea that America had a God-given right to be absolutely isolated from wars on other continents”, I don’t see how he could have accepted the missiles. Any one of a number of persons could have leaked the fact of the missiles’ presence.

How could the Israelis have engineered a coup d’état in America? Michael Collins Piper’s Final Judgment suggests that the power of money – and the treason of CIA counterintelligence chief James Jesus Angleton – are the keys to understanding the real chain of command behind the JFK assassination.

James Jesus Angleton was the CIA’s liaison to the Mossad – and a de facto Mossad mole. As Guyénot reminds us:

“Angleton’s closest professional friends overseas […] came from the Mossad and […] he was held in immense esteem by his Israeli colleagues and by the state of Israel, which was to award him profound honors after his death.”

As CIA counterintelligence chief, Angleton would have “authorized” the killing of JFK by convincing other CIA and military figures that JFK was a knowing or unknowing agent of the communists. He quite likely did this at the instigation of his Israeli friends. Once JFK had been deemed a traitor and an enemy agent by CIA counterintelligence, Agency underlings could be mobilized against their Commander-in-Chief.

After the assassination, Angleton led a diversionary operation falsely blaming the Russians. Chief Justice Earl Warren was convinced to cover up the conspiracy against JFK after he was told that the Russians were behind the killing, and if the truth came out, the result would be thermonuclear war.

Besides owning America’s counterintelligence chief, the Zionists had another trump card in their designs on JFK’s life: The power of money, especially the dirty money that fuels the covert operations of the CIA and its organized crime partners. Michael Collins Piper explains that when we “follow the money” behind the JFK assassination, we find Zionists holding the purse strings.

New Orleans DA Jim Garrison discovered that the covert operators behind the JFK coup were financed by a black-ops bank called Permindex, a subsidiary of a Swiss bank owned by legendary Mossad financier Tibor Rosenbaum. Permindex itself was chaired by Louis M. Bloomfield, the Israel lobby chieftain and kingpin of the Bronfman family of Canada. The Bronfmans have long been associated with Meyer Lansky’s crime syndicate, and are one of the biggest “money powers” behind Israel.

So the Zionists were at the top of the money pyramid that “owned” the CIA black operators. They also owned the organized crime elements that participated in the assassination.

It turns out that Rosenbaum’s Swiss bank was not only financing CIA black ops, including the JFK murder, but was also mob chieftain Meyer Lansky’s prime “money laundry.” (Lansky was the head of all organized crime in America, because he controlled the purse strings.)

Bugliosi may have made the most money on JFK books, but it does not make him right. Bugliosi proves that the main stream opinion lives on, 50 years later.
We got to find another planet.

  • Wild_Bird

    Not quite.
A sizeable portion of the Left and a tiny segment of the Right hate Jews for a variety of different reasons. Moreover, there is some crossover on various of the reasons you stated.

Bottom line, people throughout the world like to scapegoat the Jews to deflect from their own failings. It’s kind of a sickness.

Interestingly, Bishop Thomas Paprocki of the Catholic diocese of Springfield Illinois recently held a rare public exorcism to pray for God to cast out the influences of evil in the state, because Governor Pat Quinn signed a law making Illinois the 16th state to legally redefine marriage to include same-sex couples .
Among the bishop’s remarks was the following: “I’m not saying that anyone involved in the redefinition of marriage is possessed by the devil, but all of us are certainly subject to the devil’s evil influences and in need of protection and deliverance from evil.”

  • Keith VanderLaan

ok…ive read some of your comments and you obviously seem Jewish, but then sometimes i thought you might be Catholic…i guess your HS and your background in religion makes me think that. Well then, how interesting. I didnt think there was a strong Jewish community in Poland. I know France and England have many Jews. You know those East Europeans were very different than Italian, English, and French Catholics, etc. Often people who go through economic hardship use scapegoats. So you are a rabbi? Which denomination of Judaism are you?

  • Keith VanderLaan

very interesting. I will say this…..you are very interesting. it’s so odd how certain facts happen and then they are turned into something else, but they needed a true fact, even one that is thought harmless and not really complete, to start out with. my writing is incoherent, but i dont want to be more clear.

  • Altosackbuteer

Given the mindset of both the American People and its leaders at the time, I suppose that is so.

  • Altosackbuteer

When an economy is harmed, surely that HARMS PEOPLE too, no? I mean, what IS an “economy,” if not REAL LIVE HUMAN BE-INS working to advance themselves materially?

George Herbert Hoover Bush Jr. DID approve Atlantic drilling.

Unfortunately, he only did it with a few months to go in his second term. Had he done it early in his first term, as he could have, it would have been irreversible. As it is, Øbama Øsama easily cancelled it.

Thanks for NOTHING, George Herbert Hoover Bush Jr.!

    In capsule form:

My ancestry is Irish, and predominantly French/Canadian/Indian. No Jewish at all.

I was brought up Roman Catholic, attending parochial schools throughout, not attending a single public institution until I attended U/Mass @ Amherst for my second college degree.

I converted to Judaism half a lifetime ago.

There is NOT a strong Jewish community in Poland, not anymore.

There were 3 million Polish Jews before the war; 5,000 were counted after. But I believe this is the official number, only those who were “zameldowanie,” which is to say, officially registered. There were many more than that. Partially, a fairly large number of Jews had evaded the Nazis with fake ID, and never looked back. And other Jews, many from the USSR who survived the war, were brought into Poland to help repopulate it, especially the Western Lands which were ethnically cleansed of its Germans and desperately needed to be filled.

In 1955, my city alone had a Jewish parochial school with 2,000 children. 500 Jewish families were zameldowanie here in Legnica alone — and Legnica is not a particularly large city.

But then came the late 1960′s. It was the time of the Prague Spring of Alexander Dubcek. The borders opened — and Poland obliged the USSR by expelling a lot of its Jews.

My synagogue has been slowly winding down ever since. It is growing older, dying off slowly, and there is no prospect of rejuvenation. Someday, it will be a case of, will the last Jew to leave please turn out the lights when he goes.

Kraków has perhaps the largest Jewish community. There are around 400 Jews in Kraków. It is ALMOST viable. But even Kraków faces the problem — where can its young Jews, the few there are, find spouses?

I am no trained rabbi. By the standards of the ordinary Gentile on the street, I may SEEM to have a level of knowledge comnensurate to that of a rabbi — but believe me, any 10-year boy who has been raised in an Orthodox family and has attended yeshiva, which is to say, a Jewish parochial school, knows so much Judaism that he makes ME look like an ignorant Gentile on the street.

There is NO SUCH A THING as “Jewish denominations.” Judaism really comes only in one form — the authentic form of Judaism. A given Jewish “synagogue” is either authentically Jewish — or it is not.

The situation may be imperfectly compared to Catholicism. I say “imperfectly,” because Catholicism is rigidly and centrally organized, and Judaism is the opposite. But it is still somewhat analogous, because inside Catholicism, something is either Catholic or it is not.

For example: Let us say someone named Jack Jones establishes what he says is a Catholic Church. But he has no authorization from the local bishop. And he ordains women to be priests, performs gay marriages, and authorizes birth control and abortion.

Whatever the merits of his “church,” and despite his claim to be Catholic, clearly his is not Catholic.

The same thing exists in Judaism. Either one believes and accepts certain basic principles of belief, or one does not.

Maimonides defined some 13 essential principles, and among these is a mandatory belief that God really did reveal the Law to Moses and to the Children of Israel at Mt. Sinai. And that this law was transmitted to Joshua, then the Judges, then the Prophets, then the Elders of the Great Assembly, etc. etc., as is stated in a Mishna called Pirkei Avot, or, “Ethics of the Fathers.”

One either believes these things, or one does not.

If a given synagogue believes AND PRACTICES these things, it is Orthodox, and authentic. If it disputes that God literally did such things, it is not Orthodox, and not authentic. Generally, that means, it is some kind of flavor of Conservative or Reform.

Judaism is not a Chinese menu, where you get to pick what you like from Column A, and then Column B. For that matter, neither is Catholicism. In both cases, you either accept the whole package, or you do not; and in the latter case, you forfeit the right to call yourself “Jewish” or “Catholic.”

    I hope this was helpful.

  • Altosackbuteer

I also liked Ira Levin’s “Rosemary’s Baby” and “The Boys from Brazil.” Both the books and movies were very good. Levin did a great job in describing the Catholic practice of exorcism, a notable achievement considering he wasn’t Jewish.

And Leon Uris has written several notable works. One, I think called Trinity, was about the Irish rebellion of WWI. I believe he wrote Exodus. And he also wrote an AMAZING book called The Haj. It was set in Palestine and was told from an Arab M00-slum’s perspective.

A Jewish lady friend of mine, who lived in Hevron on the Wild, Wild West Bank, of all places, once told me how much she liked Uris’ book. She said, she believed EVERYTHING he said inside about Arabs — except for ONE thing. Uris had described how Arab mothers nurse their sons until way, WAY past the age to wean them, and make them dress like girls until they reach age 8 or so.

My friend told me, THIS should could not believe.

Until one day, when she went to the shoukh (narketplace) to go shopping. And she saw an Arab mother with a little girl, maybe 6 years old or something. The little girl was wearing a dress, and had flowing, long, black, adorable curly hair.

But then the little girl needed to “make.” No problemo — the mother lifted the child’s skirt — AND A LITTLE BOY MICTURATED THROUGH HIS MALE MEMBER!

So she told me how she returned home, laughing, and told her husband, NOW I believe EVERYTHING Uris said in his book!

You’ve got McCain mixed up with William Proxmire. As far as I know, McCain never had anything to do with the Golden Fleece Awards.

  • SillieGander

As opposed to you pulling your head out of your rear-end? That might help with your constipation problems!

  • SillieGander

Maybe so, I just read books (that’s all). This is just a friendly warning that unless you conservatives and libertarians cannot coalesce a simple majority (fifty percent plus one with two hundred and seventy (270) electoral votes) of American voters then Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton (1947 – ) will be elected the forty fifth (45th) POTUS on Tuesday November 8, 2016.

  • Mike6

I am not sure that in 2016 the Republicans will get 51%. I do think that Hillary is a witch. I used to think that Hillary was a Stalinist, and that if elected President Hillary would make Obama look like a cream puff.
I have changed my mind. I think that Hillary is a Trotskyite, and that is even worse that a Stalinist. You know about Trotsky, who was Lenin’s chief of the Red Army. He murdered one million decent honest , hard working, God Fearing Russian Kulaks because they hated the Reds and they went to Holy Mass every Sunday.
Trotsky wanted to spead the Bolshevik Revolution all over the world. The Red Army attacked Poland in 1920 and the gallant Polish cavalry crushed them. Trotsky was blamed for this disaster and he almost lost his job.
Stalin used that defeat to move up the ladder. Do you agree?

  • SillieGander

A military coup led by liberal Republican Colin Luther Powell (1937 – ) and conservative Democrat Wesley Kanne Clark Senior (1944 – )? I can live with that, in fact if they did their coup in 2001 to prevent that f00l George Walker Bush Junior (1946 – ) from stealing the Oval Office, America and good Americans would have been far better off!

  • popeye2010

You lefties need to break the habit of warming up the Subaru wagon with the garage door CLOSED!

  • Keith VanderLaan

de facto rabbi…..oh. interesting. may i ask you a question: how would you define mitzvah and can you explain how it has meaning to you in your everyday life. how do you minister to people, if i may ask without appearing rude.

  • Keith VanderLaan

Did i understand correctly that Krakow is where you reside now or is that an example you were giving of Polish cities with Jewish populations . Krakow is such a cultural city, yes? a magnificent city of history and culture and beauty. so you have converted to Judaism? from Catholicism…. and live in Catholic Poland?? it sounds so antithetical ( i hope i am using the word correctly). Well I suppose you had and have your reasons for that. Was it due to marriage or out of some sort of personal reasons, if i may be so bold (nosey) to ask.
By denomination I meant Orthodox, Reformed, etc…..(in the American sense of Judaism).
I suspect you are correct about Cathollcism being more centralized where all roads so to speak lead back to Rome. The Orthodox Christians might be a better example then to compare with Judaism, as they are not as topdown it appears as Catholics, in an organizational sense i mean of course. They seem more like they are organized like Jews to a certain extent.
    whats that saying….2 Jews, 3 opinions….LOL.
well, anyway, i dont know if you are American or Canadian citizen….but if you are still American—-have a nice Thanksgiving abroad Thursday and may you also have a Happy Hanukkah!

  • Keith VanderLaan

oh reread your comment…..Legnica. is that one of those central european cities with such a location that depending on the time and history determines what country it belongs too. Is that Leignitz ? what do gemans call that city? Lignica is Polish now of course.

  • Keith VanderLaan

does your town have a major Cathedral and or a synagogue?

  • Altosackbuteer

A “mitzvah,” simply put, is a commandment, one of the 613 written commandments found in the written Torah, which is to say, the 5 Books of Moses.

Certain mitzvot are suspended at this time, these pertaining to the cult of Temple sacrifice, since there is no more Temple.

Certain mitzvot are to be performed on a sporadic, seasonal basis. And others on a weekly, or a daily basis.

I do not “minister” to anybody, since there is nothing sacramental in Judaism. All I really do is conduct the prayer services, and give occasional advice about Jewish law.

More colloquially, in Yiddish (an offshoot of German), “mitzvah” means, a GOOD deed, for example, donating money to charity.

  • Altosackbuteer

Legnica does indeed have a major functioning cathedral, which is the seat of the local bishop.

It is at the end of a pedestrian walkway in the middle of the marketplace. At the other end is a church which is almost as big, which actually is a Protestant church, which ministers to a German remnant which still lives in Legnica. This church is fascinating on the inside. It looks like it could be a Turkish mosque, thos it never was.

The synagogue is a small rented place on the second floor of a building near the center of town.

  • Altosackbuteer

Legnica was indeed German Liegnitz until 1945.

Germans tend to refer to these places by their old German names. Hence Bunzlau, not Boleslawiec; Breslau, not Wroclaw, etc.

I remember the first time I ever visited Europe. I was in Salzburg in Austria, and was walking down a mountain road, when I encountered an elderly lady who lived in Hannover. We got to talking, and she said that she was a girl, she lived in Kattowitz. I thought about that for a moment, and asked her, did she not mean “Katowice”? And she said, no, SHE MEANT KATTOWITZ.

Kattowitz was in the portion of the German Upper Silesia which went over to the new Polish state in 1919 and which was renamed at that time. And this woman STILL remembered, after 70 years, and still resented having to move away.

  • Altosackbuteer

I do not live in Krakow. Krakow is sort of a low-tech Jewish theme park these days, with a number of VERY old synagogues which are still in use. It has visitors from all over the world, in particular from Israel, which is committing to sending all its young to tour Poland, to see how Jewish life was in Europe, and the origins of their own state.

More than anything else, I believe that God caused me to be born Catholic, convert, and then go to Catholic Poland, so that I could comfortably talk to both sides, because God needs such a person.

    Thank you.

  • Keith VanderLaan

ty for taking the time to answer.

  • Keith VanderLaan

oh i never heard of Krakow referred to like that. When i think of grand european cities i think of rome, florence, london, paris, cologne, barcelona, krakow, and of course vienna …and then also prague and bruges and….. oh its too ridiculous to name names, there simply are too many.
how interesting…..your belief and your statement. I suppose you can be metaphorically like a lighthouse and a crossroads…..your knowledge of different religions, different cultures, differences can be a lighthouse and a crossroads and gives you an understanding of civility and friendship and coexistence that maybe someone without your background might not be able to achieve so easily. i suppose your Catholic and Jewish experience gives you that advantage and makes you a more understanding person.

The first coup d’état in US history occurred while JFK was President. It was the murder of the President and the mainstream media remained silent. This brought us President Johnson who gave us the Vietnam war to satisfy military, CIA and the state department. This also gave us the Great Society. This was the real beginning of out of control budgets, the massive growth of the Federal Government and ushered internationalists (globalists) into high positions of government. As I see it, as a non Democrat, JFK was the last decent president we had.

  • SillieGander

Hillary may be a witch and a femme-N.A.Z.I. but that won’t stop her from being POTUS. Vladimir Ilyich Lenin (Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov) (1870 – 1924) and his minion Leon Trotsky (Lev Davidovich Bronshtein) (1879 – 1940) were indeed EVIL but are you suggesting that they were are PURELY EVIL as Joseph Stalin (Iosif Vissarionovich Stalin) (Ioseb Besarionis dze Jugashvili) (1878 – 1953), only Adolf Hitler (1889 – 1945) and Mao Zedong (Mao Tse-tung)(1893 – 1976) could compare?
Stalin was a two-faced back-stabber of EPIC proportions!

  • Mike6

Stalin was a Georgian criminal, a bank robber, a Bolshevik terrorist, a Czarist Okhrana agent( you did not know that), and a pederast. Hillary is just a stupid lesbian. If she is elected President hold on to your hat.

  • SillieGander

If only Stalin were just a Georgian criminal, a bank robber, a Bolshevik terrorist, a Czarist Okhrana agent( you did not know that), and a pederast, so many millions might still be alive, but as it is he was also a mass murderer and a murderous backstabber (purgist). Franklin Delano Roosevelt (1882 – 1945) should NEVER have helped out Joseph Stalin (Iosif Vissarionovich Stalin) (Ioseb Besarionis dze Jugashvili) (1878 – 1953) and allowed the communists to infiltrate the American government.
Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton (1947 – ) is a bi-sexual lesbian and a femme-NAZI, but don’t underestimate her as she is pretty shrewd in her own right.
At least she’ll be a little bit of a better President (2017 – 2025) than that “Messiah” Barack Hussein (Barry Soetoro) (1961 – ) who is in way over his head as POTUS (2009 – 2017).

  • Mike6

    I agree 100%.
If Hillary is a bi-lesbian and a Femme NAZI, perhaps you should stop supporting her????
I have a nasty feeing that Hillary is very, very angry. Her husband humiliated her 1000 times. The DNC gave her earned 70+Michigan delegates to a Kenyan/Indonesian Impostor, and she did not say a word. Her Hillarycare proposal was shot down in 1993.
She has fat legs and that is why she wears those horrible pant suits. Hillary has a high shrill voice and she sounds like a witch. She would wash her hair at least once a week.
Hillary is more angry than Moochel Obama and Stalin combined. Hillary may be a Trotskyist!!!!!!
If she is elected President she may make Obama look like a cream puff. She may start constructing re-education camps for the 10% of Americans that Bill Ayers says are so stupid that they are still banging their bibles and their guns. Do you agree.

  • Mike6

In 1917, Jew bankers in New York send Leon Trotsky by ship from New York to Russia to support the Bolshevik Revolution. This ship contained weapons, gold bars, and many other terrorists. Lenin made Trotsky chief of the Red Army.
Trotsky murdered on million hard working, decent, honest, God Fearing Russian/Ukrainian kulaks, because they hated Bolsheviks and went to Holy Mass every sunday.

  • Mike6

Thank you for your gallant service in Viet Nam.
The brave, elite French Foreign Legion Paratroopers fought heroically at Diem Bien Fu. I read that President Eisenhower and Richard Nixon decided to support the French Legion Paratroopers with American air power.
Two Democrat senators vetoed that proposal and they were LBJ and John Kennedy. If the French had American B-52 air support, they could have blown the Reds to kingdom come.
We lost in Vietnam and we never recovered, and probably never will. The SDS and the Bill Ayers weathermen set 50,000 bombs in colleges, between 1965 and 1975 and that was just the beginning. With Obama and Hillary as Presidents hold on to your hat.

  • Mike6

I agree 100%. The editor of the Washington Post let the dogs loose on Nixon because he forgot to invite her to his inauguration ball, and for exposing Alger Hiss as a GRU spy. Nobody died in Watergate. Nixon was a patriot and a gentleman.
I still do not know what Obama and Hillary were doing for eight hours during the Benghazi Massacre. Was Hillary drunk, and was Obama packing for his trip to Las Vegas??????

  • XSANDIEGOCA

Merci beaucoup! Went to buy some ammo today at my favorite little store. There was none. Hadn’t had a shipment in months. Last shipment was from an order given 18 months before. I had heard of shortages but I asked for confirmation from the owner. What’s the story? I asked. He said the government had placed a gargantuan order for 9mm, 6 Billion rounds! Since the government gets priority, everyone else is essentially shut out. All the brass, powder that might have gone for other orders was diverted to this one order, more bullets than we used in WWII!! I have also recently read that the only lead smelter in America has been shut down for “environmental” reasons but that pretty much shuts down the slug market. The owner looked me in the eye and asked me, now..what do you think is going on? Hold on to your hat, indeed…

  • Mike6

I wonder why Homeland Security is purchased 6 billion rounds of hollow point ammo. Do they know that hollow point ammo, poison gas, and the bombing of innocent civilians is prohibited by the Geneva Code? Bill Clinton did not know that when he bombed Christian Belgrade to protect muslims in Kosovo.
Perhaps the Obama Government is preparing for massive demonstrations when the people find out more about Obamacare/Benghazicare?
Thank you for you service in Vietnam.
Do you agree that the Paratroopers of the French Foreign Legion in their time were perhaps the finest infantry in the world.
Most of them were White Russians, nasty Germans, and Nationalist Poles.

  • XSANDIEGOCA

D’accords! Le Deuxieme Rep was and is second to none.

  • GTyrebiter

I think several tests should be administered prior to voting. First: an I.Q. test. Anyone with an I.Q. under 80 or so has no business voting. Second: a test of the candidates’ bioraphy, their voting record and their stand on the main issues of the day. If you don’t know this stuff again, you have no business voting for someone who may ruin my future, as well as the future of my country! Ignorance is not an acceptable excuse! Just one man’s opinion.

  • GTyrebiter

Regarding JFK: we could have done much worse than have JFK for president. And eventually, we did: first we got LBJ and then we got Nixon. In hindsight I cannot conceive of two more treacherous, dishonest or opportunistic politicians as the leader of our country. And while I respect Mr. Buchanan and appreciate the work he’s done for our country as a conservative pundit / author, he, like the media he disparages, lauds Nixon’s accomplishments while ignoring his massive malfeasance. LBJ was at least as bad, likely worse. The info is out there, all you have to do is look for it.

  • Louis Thorndon

I read the article and as usual it is right, but it is written from a perspective that I do not share. There were 3 sections of the Democrat Party – the Left (aka liberals, Harvard men, etc.), the Roman Catholics (center right) and the South (center right). The Left (ably assisted by that factional traitor – LBJ) has driven the Roman Catholics and the South from the party and replaced them by an expanded electorate composed of minorities. The Left lives in fear of the GOP making minorities competitive. JFK was first and foremost a Roman Catholic factional leader (at least until his father’s stroke) and was a Harvard man second. RFK and Teddy were from the Left. JFK was in many matters not as interventionist as Nixon, although his party was more so in the North East. So the article is right, but, with respect, I do not think that JFK would have cared.
