House passes debt ceiling lift

Wednesday afternoon, the Republican controlled House passed a short term extension — or lift — of the debt ceiling.  The move allows the federal government to continue borrowing money, while Congress deals with potential entitlement reforms, sequestration and the crafting of a budget.
