Calls for Attorney General Eric Holder’s resignation from Congress have swelled to 52, along with “three presidential candidates and two sitting Governors,” as reported by the Daily Caller. Holder really wants them to stop reporting this stuff.
As Vice President Joe Biden recently explained to HUMAN EVENTS, only liberal media outlets are allowed to ask questions of Democrat Party royalty, at carefully orchestrated events. Holder spoke briefly with the Daily Caller and expanded this doctrine to include the reporting of embarrassing, but objectively accurate, facts:
As Holder’s aide was escorting the attorney general offstage following his remarks Tuesday afternoon at the White House, a Daily Caller reporter introduced himself and shook Holder’s hand. The reporter asked him for a response to the growing chorus of federal legislators demanding his resignation.
Holder stepped towards the exit, then turned around, stepped back toward the reporter, and sternly said, “You guys need to — you need to stop this. It’s not an organic thing that’s just happening. You guys are behind it.”
Holder then walked offstage without answering TheDC’s request for comment about calls for his resignation.
Ignoring facts to make them go away is standard procedure for the Obama Administration, although there is very little evidence of it working thus far. Also, telling the media not to cover a story doesn’t work, when the media in question is not comfortably nestled in your hip pocket, as Herman Cain’s lawyer recently learned.
On the bright side, it’s encouraging to note that Holder has apparently gotten around to reading about Operation Fast and Furious, something his perjury defense rests upon his never having done before.
Here’s something else Eric Holder would love to suppress: it turns out that Deputy Attorney General Gary Grindler, who was unquestionably and intimately familiar with the ATF gun walking operation, showed up in White House visitor logs as taking four meetings with President Obama… during the two weeks leading up to “the height of Operation Fast and Furious,” as the L.A.
